Objective

We are looking for high-energy, driven professionals with sound business acumen, strong technical aptitude and natural sales instincts. As a Sales Consultant you will act as part of a Regional Sales Team hunting new business within specific life science territories. Ideal candidates should be eager to advance in our organization by demonstrating their ability to be tenacious self-starters every day.

You will be the first point of contact between FirstWord Group and potential new clients at the beginning of our sales cycle. You will be the voice of the company focusing on uncovering unmet needs for our customers becoming a product and industry expert in the process, using that knowledge to win new business opportunities. 


What you will do 

  • You will play a key role in further building the client base for FirstWord in your market with the responsibility of:
  • Building new business leads from accounts that have not yet been penetrated.
  • Cold-calling & emailing C-Level Executives and Key Decision Makers to open up new accounts and opportunities.
  • Identifying and closing new prospects for meetings/demos.
  • Promptly follow-up on inbound leads
  • Closing new business opportunities 
  • Deliver scalable long-term growth, uncover and exploit new revenue streams
  • Deliver on Forecasts to the business
  • Strategic Account Development: build an account plan and devise a strategy for transformational growth. Understand your Client(s) inside/out; its strategic initiatives, exec LT, culture, key brands / pipeline assets and processes
  • Identify key business questions to develop new partnerships and draw on the appropriate internal resources.
  • Cross-functional stakeholder management: communicate and collaborate effectively with your team and the wider organization, build strong internal networks to influence strategic direction and partner with marketing, editorial and analyst teams to optimize the client journey.


Who you are 

  • Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience selling into global pharma and biotechnology customers and they should have experience orchestrating global multi-dimensional client relationships in a matrix environment.
  • Candidates with any B2B business development experience. 
  • Highly motivated with a strong desire to reach and exceed targets and grow into a world class commercial business person
  • Comfortable speaking to new people and presenting in person or via the phone/video call.
  • Must have a growth mindset and be naturally curious
  • This is a full-time remote position
  • Travel is required for client sites, conferences and events when necessary.

Desirable 

  • Science Degree or have been working in the Life Sciences industry
