Prepare 706 returns for review by accountant. Prepare legal plan for clients' assets. Under supervision of the firm’s principal attorney: analyze and plan case strategy to help clients determine specific distribution of their estates; communicate with clients to gather information, convey advice, and help clients devise ways to reduce taxes or fees that may be imposed on an estate. Conduct legal research on a variety of state and federal tax laws, estate planning, wills and trusts, property and real estate, and family law. Under supervision of the firm’s principal attorney, draft and review legal documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents and may assist with other personal and business matters, such as retirement plans, life insurance policies, and charitable contributions; Liaise with client representatives (lawyers, accountants, etc.) and other professionals to gather information for cases; If a matter goes to probate court, applicant may work under the supervision of the firm’s principal attorney to prepare the case for litigation.
