Job Description:

Databook is hiring an Agent Builder / Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to create AI-powered guided coaches and agentic workflows used across every part of the go-to-market engine.

You’ll design agents for a wide range of personas and use cases - from meeting prep and account strategy to value modeling, forecasting, pipeline reviews, customer service, and executive decision support. You’ll own everything from requirements and workflow design to prompting, data mapping, routing logic, eval harnesses, and customer iteration.

If you enjoy turning complex business processes into clear, reliable, production-ready AI workflows, this role is for you.

This is a fully remote role based anywhere in the United States or Canada and reports directly to the Head of Solutions.

About the Role:

  • Design, build, and deploy agentic workflows and guided coaches for a broad set of GTM and customer-facing personas (AE, BDR, CSM, Value Engineering, SE/SAs, RevOps, CS Leadership, Marketing, Support, and more)
  • 50% of your time will be spent directly with customers to understand their current-state workflows, map problem areas, define desired future-state outcomes, and ensure the agent solves the real business need
  • Own customer relationships throughout the design and deployment cycle, serving as a trusted partner on workflow strategy and adoption
  • Translate ambiguous, cross-functional business processes into structured agent logic with clear inputs, transformations, decisions, and outputs
  • Develop and refine prompts, tools, routing logic, validation steps, and reasoning patterns inside each workflow
  • Build and maintain evaluation harnesses (test cases, gold outputs, rubrics, hallucination checks) to ensure predictable, repeatable, and trusted agent performance
  • Test agents across real-world edge cases including: sparse CRM data, conflicting inputs, new logo vs existing, industry-specific differences, persona-specific expectations, and public vs private financial contexts
  • Create PRDs, workflow specs, sequence diagrams, and “before vs after” clarity documents
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to ensure agents meet real user needs and align to Databook’s architecture
  • Own “demo readiness” of workflows: fast runtime, transparent data sourcing, explainability, and narrative clarity
  • Present workflows and reasoning paths to internal and external stakeholders, including executives
  • Document agent behavior, guardrails, safety patterns, and failure modes
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to customers on agentic workflow design, enterprise AI readiness, data requirements, and ongoing iteration

Qualifications:

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand customer workflows, surface current-state problems, and translate desired future-state outcomes into deterministic agent logic
  • Experience in a customer-facing role such as forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, value consulting, RevOps, or similar functions where you owned both problem discovery and solution design
  • Ability to work through ambiguous cross-functional processes and turn them into structured, scalable workflows that can support multiple personas and industries
  • Experience writing PRDs, workflow diagrams, logic specifications, or similar design documentation
  • Familiarity with APIs, SQL, JSON, Salesforce objects, Slack data, enterprise systems, and data orchestration
  • Ability to translate ambiguous, cross-functional workflows into structured agent logic that scales across personas and industries
  • Experience building eval harnesses with edge cases, gold outputs, confidence scoring, and hallucination safeguards
  • Comfortable working directly with customers as a forward-deployed engineer, field engineer, or solutions engineer
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, especially when presenting technical decisions to senior leaders
  • Experience operating in fast-moving environments and iterating quickly using measurable evaluation feedback
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, RevOps, AI copilots, or enterprise workflow design is a plus
  • Bonus: experience with golden dataset creation, closed-loop analytics, or agent optimization

Join us! Here are some of our key benefits:

  • Competitive salary and equity
  • Employer contribution to Medical, Dental, Vision
  • 401k Retirement Plan
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Employee referral bonus program

Compensation:

The total compensation pay range for this role is $130,000.00 - $150,000.00. This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. Salary ranges outside San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation.
