Get Matched to Top FDE Teams
Hi there! We’re Nixo -- we build internal tools for Forward-Deployed Engineering (FDE) teams at AI startups and late-stage companies. There's one question that our customers keep asking us: “Do you know anyone great we should hire?”
After making a number of successful introductions, we've launched the Nixo Hiring Hub to connect exceptional FDEs and FDE aspirants with the best FDE teams. If a team is hiring FDEs, we usually hear about it first. And if you’re interested in being an FDE, we’re excited to help you get there.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will lead end-to-end customer deployments of AI systems, embedding directly with customer engineering and domain teams to turn complex real-world problems into production systems. You will own discovery, technical scoping, system design, implementation, and production rollout of customer-facing solutions.
You will measure success through durable production adoption, measurable workflow impact, and eval-driven feedback that directly informs product and model roadmaps. FDEs operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer execution, working closely with Product, Research, Security, GRC, Partnerships, and GTM teams to ensure deployments are secure, scalable, and repeatable.
This role involves hands-on software development, rapid iteration in customer environments, and translating ambiguous requirements into robust technical systems that operate in production.
You might be a good fit if you:
- Have strong software engineering fundamentals (e.g., Python, TypeScript, or equivalent)
- Are comfortable working across APIs, data pipelines, and modern cloud infrastructure
- Have shipped production systems in ambiguous, customer-driven environments
- Can translate business or domain problems into concrete technical designs
- Thrive in roles that combine execution, customer interaction, and product feedback
