Work with customers to design, implement, and deploy data-driven solutions integrating Crisp's platform. Translate business workflows into robust architectures, build production-grade code, advise on data engineering and modeling best practices, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver measurable customer value.

At Crisp, we’re helping the food and Consumer Packaged Goods industry become more efficient and sustainable through better data. By bringing together smart, motivated people wherever they live and work, we’re tackling the complex challenges of global supply chains with modern technology and real-world pragmatism.

As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer, you’ll work directly with our customers to design and deliver high-impact technical solutions that unlock the power of Crisp’s platform. You’ll combine deep technical skill, curiosity, and empathy to turn real-world business problems into elegant, scalable systems.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy variety and impact — one week you might be modeling retailer data to improve demand forecasting, the next you’re building an AI solution to identify which restaurants serve dishes that include cucumber. You’ll collaborate across teams to ensure our customers realize immediate and lasting value from Crisp.
Experience with distributed teams is a plus, but not required. We’re looking for people who have demonstrated the ability to thrive in fast-moving environments, whether in startups or smaller teams inside larger companies. We recognize that it is impossible to have years of experience with deploying LLMs, but require some tangible, hands-on examples of using and leveraging AI in real business settings.

Signs of a Great Candidate for a Forward Deployed Engineer Role

  • Impact driven. You care about delivering measurable value for customers, not just writing code.
  • Versatile problem solver. You can move fluidly between architecture discussions, implementation, and debugging data pipelines.
  • Technically strong. You’re comfortable with modern languages and data tools — SQL, Python, APIs, and cloud infrastructure — and eager to learn new ones.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity. You can navigate incomplete information, make sound trade-offs, and move projects forward.
  • Empathetic communicator. You bridge technical and non-technical perspectives, helping customers and teammates make clear, informed decisions.
  • Action-oriented. You bias toward building and learning through iteration.

What You’ll Do

  • Own technical delivery for strategic customers. Design, implement, and deploy solutions that integrate Crisp into customer systems.
  • Work directly with customers. Understand customer business workflows and translate them into robust technical architectures and data models.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor. Helping customers adopt best practices in data engineering, modeling, and automation.
  • Work with internal Crisp teams. Product, engineering, data, and customer success — to bring insights from the field into our roadmap.
  • Customize and extend core platform functionality. You will often be writing production-grade code that becomes part of our product.

What Makes a Great Fit at Crisp

  • Collaboration: You believe the best results come from working together. You share ideas, pitch in, and elevate those around you.
  • Grit: You’re curious, self-driven, and unafraid to roll up your sleeves. You get the job done even when the path isn’t clear and adapt quickly when things change.
  • People: You stay close to those we serve. Listening, learning, and building what matters most.
  • Feedback: You see it as fuel. You give it with care, take it with humility, and use it to level up.
  • Ingenuity: You solve problems with creativity and speed. You look for ways to streamline, automate, or improve without being asked.

We are committed to transparency, diversity, and meritocracy, fostering an environment where every team member is empowered to make an impact, grow personally, and advance in their career. We invite you to join us — not just to take on a role, but to help shape a company you’re proud to be part of.
