Location: Remote - Anywhere (Open to applicants located anywhere around the globe.)
Fueled is a leading digital strategy, design, and engineering agency. We are a 300+ person team that has designed and built hundreds of digital products and experiences for brands like Google, Apple, The New York Times, ESPN, Victoria’s Secret, MGM Resorts, Albertsons, and CLEAR.
At Fueled, we call developers like you engineers because you aren’t just a “coder”: you’re an innovative problem solver who uses web programming skills to divine smart, creative solutions to client challenges.
As a Contract Senior JavaScript Engineer, you have options for flexible and alternative work schedules. Intentionally remote since day one, spanning six continents and 40 countries, Fueled fully embraces the benefits of distributed work.
- Lead, architect, and build React projects with modern JavaScript.
- Estimate JavaScript work and modularize goals into clearly defined, executable tasks.
- Provide code reviews.
- Skillfully connect engineering deliverables to client business objectives.
- Ultimately you will make the web better by finely crafting apps, and tools that reach millions of online visitors every day.
What you will achieve:
- From Day 1, you’re leading the technical direction for a key feature or project, establishing your role as a trusted architect from the start.
- Within your first project, you’ll have shipped a major feature that is performant, scalable, and receives positive feedback from both the client and your peers.
- You will have identified and resolved a performance bottleneck or architectural improvement, leaving the codebase healthier and more efficient than you found it.
- Your code reviews will become a sought-after resource, with teammates actively seeking your input to improve their own work and the project's overall quality.
- By the end of your contract, you’ll have a tangible legacy of work that millions have interacted with and a standing invitation to return for future projects based on your impact.
- You love building scalable web-based JavaScript applications with ES6+, React, and Node.
- You are well-versed with the architectural concepts behind React - state and data management, JSX, creating a componentized system, and JavaScript tooling.
- You are knowledgeable of WordPress as a platform, including custom post types, taxonomies, and use of WordPress beyond typical “blog” use cases.
- You have a code portfolio of real-world samples. Link us to your best custom work on GitHub and you’ll never have to do any live coding or whiteboard testing!
- You prefer to work fully remote and are effectively engaging in a distributed team from the location of your choosing.
Compensation is determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, projects, geographic location, and business needs.
