About Wavelength

Wavelength Network is a creator and sports media company. Through Extreme International and UNREEL, we work with creators, athletes and some of the biggest action sports channels online.

We help destinations, resorts and tourism boards turn their places into stories people want to watch, share and travel to. Recent work includes gamified resort concepts for Alpine ski resorts, island and beach destinations and national tourism boards.

The role

We're looking for a sports tourism strategist to help us win and shape work with destinations. You'll bring the tourism side of the thinking: how visitors choose where to go, how boards and resorts measure success and how sport and events drive bookings.

You'll work alongside our creative and commercial team on pitches and live projects. This is an ad hoc role: we'll bring you in when a project needs you.

What you'll do
  • Shape our pitches to tourism boards, resorts and destination brands so they speak to visitor numbers, seasonality and spend

  • Research target destinations: their visitor mix, key markets, events calendar and current marketing

  • Find the commercial case: which goals a board or resort is judged on and how a creator or event concept moves them

  • Advise on sports events and activations that bring visitors in the low season and spread them across a region

  • Help set measurable outcomes and reporting for live campaigns, such as bookings, overnight stays and reach in source markets

  • Open doors where you can, introducing us to tourism boards, destination marketing organisations and resort groups

  • Join client calls and workshops as the tourism expert on the team

What you'll bring
  • At least 5 years in sports tourism, destination marketing or tourism strategy, on the client or agency side

  • Hands-on work with tourism boards, destination marketing organisations, resorts or major sports events

  • A clear grasp of how destinations plan and measure: visitor economy data, seasonality, source markets and return on investment

  • Strong research and writing: you can turn a destination's data into a short, sharp argument

  • Confidence presenting to senior clients

  • Comfort working freelance: self-directed, reliable on deadlines and happy to switch between projects

Nice to have
  • A network of contacts at tourism boards, resort groups or event rights holders

  • Experience in winter sports, island or beach destinations

  • Knowledge of creator marketing, social content or sports media

  • Experience bidding for or hosting international sports events

How it works
  • Ad hoc: we brief you per project, with a clear scope, deadline and fee agreed up front

  • Typical work ranges from a few days on a pitch to a longer engagement on a live campaign

  • Fully remote, with travel to destinations or client meetings when a project calls for it

  • You'll work directly with our founders and project team
