Role

The Frontend Engineer reports to Brian DeMaio and will be part of the team to design and develop the user interface for the Sky Road platform. The Sky Road platform provides trade processing, portfolio management, portfolio optimization, compliance, and credit management functions for alternative asset managers. Working under Brian’s guidance along with the other members of the user interface team, this role will be focused on improving the user experience, performance, and functionality of the Sky Road platform. Angular/TypeScript and UI/UX proficiency, good communication and teamwork, and motivation to learn new skills are key to this role.


Key Responsibilities

● Design and develop user-facing features using Angular and TypeScript
● Engineer software solutions tailored for multi-tenant configuration-driven environments
● Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
● Develop automated Karma/Jasmine and regression tests
● Triage, diagnose, and troubleshoot issues using Jira and Sentry
● Help to improve and maintain documentation for internal team members

Required Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
● Experience with Angular and TypeScript
● Experience using UI component frameworks such as Angular Material
● Experience using HTML, CSS, SCSS
● Experience calling REST APIs from a front-end application
● Experience with Node.js

Desired Qualifications

● Experience with any of the following technologies: AG Grid, D3.js, Tailwind, or GraphQL
● Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and test frameworks such as Jasmine,
Karma, Jest, or Playwright

● Committed to maintaining a clean, readable, and consistent codebase by making
thoughtful and well-integrated contributions and participating in GIT pull-requests/code
reviews
● Familiarity building Financial Software Applications
● Experience with CI/CD technologies such as Git, Jenkins, Visual Studio Code
● Experience developing mobile applications for iOS and Android
● Experience designing user interfaces using tools such as Figma

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Team Contributions by supporting/contributing other team members’ ideas as well as
contributing and accepting feedback on their own suggested ideas
- Code Feedback is genuinely taken into consideration and can similarly be given via
discussion and code reviews
- Feature/Bug Fix Delivery without frequent occurrence of significant rollbacks or issues
- Time Management of simultaneous short/long term projects including estimation,
planning, development, and delivery
- Production support of the Sky Road platform including diagnosis, data correction, and
solution suggestion

Please note that the salary range information below is a good faith estimate for this position and actual compensation for any individual may fall outside this range if warranted by the circumstances applicable to that individual. If we identify a role that would be suitable for a broader range of skills and experience such that we would consider hiring at multiple levels then the range listed below may reflect that breadth.

The salary range estimate for this position is $110,000 - $150,000.

The actual compensation will be at Octus' sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors.
