Position Summary:

As a Full Stack Senior Software Engineer on the TrendAI’s TippingPoint Sustaining Engineering Group, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, stability, and performance of our Security Management System (SMS) and Vision One platform. You will investigate and resolve complex production issues, reduce technical debt, and implement improvements that enhance platform resilience across hybrid environments. This role requires strong diagnostic skills and deep expertise across the stack—maintaining and optimizing backend services in Java (Wildfly) and Go, and supporting modern UI components built with React.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex production issues across the Trend Vision One platform, including backend services built with Java EE technologies (EJBs, JPA, JMS, JAX-RS).

  • Maintain and optimize RESTful APIs and SOAP-based services to ensure reliable communication between platform components and integrated security products.

  • Support and enhance the platform UI built with React, addressing defects, performance issues, and technical debt while maintaining UX and accessibility standards.

  • Troubleshoot and stabilize cloud-native components leveraging AWS services including Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, AWS IoT, and CloudWatch.

  • Strengthen platform reliability by expanding automated test coverage using JUnit, Go testing libraries, and Python-based frameworks.

  • Analyze and resolve database performance issues across MariaDB, RDS, and ColumnStore to ensure efficient data processing and query execution.

  • Serve as a technical escalation point for customer-impacting issues, collaborating with Support and Customer Success teams to drive resolution.

  • Identify root causes of recurring issues and implement systematic fixes to prevent recurrence.

  • Reduce technical debt through targeted refactoring, code cleanup, and documentation improvements.

  • Mentor junior engineers on debugging methodologies, platform architecture, and sustaining best practices.

  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth handoffs and knowledge transfer for newly released features.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering with strong proficiency in Java; experience with Go is a plus.

  • Deep expertise in Java EE concepts including EJBs, JPA, JMS, and JAX-RS, with demonstrated ability to debug and optimize complex service architectures.

  • Exposure to React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and front-end debugging techniques.

  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting AWS services in production, particularly Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, CloudWatch, and AWS IoT.

  • Strong understanding of Docker, containerized environments, and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, TLS).

  • Proven ability to diagnose full-stack issues spanning UI, API, service, and database layers.

  • Experience with log analysis, APM tools, and observability platforms for production debugging.

  • Track record of reducing technical debt and improving system stability in large-scale platforms.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and threat defense platforms preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to clearly document issues, root causes, and resolutions.

  • Experience working with support teams and handling customer escalations.

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field—or equivalent professional experience.
