Spreetail is seeking a Global Controller to join our team. This is a highly visible leadership role reporting directly to the Global Chief Financial Officer, playing a critical part in shaping and scaling the company’s global accounting function. In this role, you will build and lead a high-performing accounting organization while implementing a structured and efficient month-end close process that ensures fast, accurate, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting. You will establish scalable accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with GAAP, SEC, and SOX requirements to maintain audit readiness as the business continues to grow. Additionally, you will deliver timely financial insights that help leadership identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and make informed decisions, while partnering closely with finance, technology, and operations teams to enhance systems, automate processes, and drive greater efficiency across the accounting function.
How you will achieve success:
- Implement a highly structured month-end close process with clear timelines, ownership, and controls to ensure fast, accurate, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
- Establish and enforce scalable accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls that support audit readiness and align with GAAP, SEC, and SOX requirements.
- Build and lead a high-performing accounting organization designed to scale with business growth while maintaining operational efficiency and accountability.
- Deliver timely and insightful financial reporting and analysis that helps leadership identify opportunities, address risks early, and make informed decisions.
- Partner closely with technology, finance, and operations teams to improve systems, automate processes, and eliminate inefficiencies across the accounting function.
What experiences will help you in this role:
- Extensive experience applying GAAP standards and maintaining strong internal controls to produce accurate financial statements and successfully pass audits.
- Proven track record of leading and scaling accounting teams while building organizational structures that support rapid company growth.
- Strong background in financial analysis, reporting, and benchmarking to provide leadership with actionable insights into business performance.
- Experience driving process improvements and system implementations that enhance accounting operations, reporting accuracy, and efficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders across finance, technology, and operational teams while maintaining a strategic, detail-oriented approach.
