This role primarily involves being the global lead for depot safety compliance, audits, and training at Stolt Tank Containers (STC). You will serve as the subject matter expert for depot safety and compliance, regularly engaging with depots to identify, analyze, and resolve safety compliance issues. You will report progress and concerns to the Global Director of Safety and SHEQ management, enforce company safety regulations, and lead continuous improvement in safety management. Your responsibilities will also encompass planning internal and external audits, managing third-party certifications, developing safety culture, conducting safety meetings, overseeing incident investigations, and training employees.

Stolt Tank Containers (STC) is a leading provider of door-to-door transportation services for bulk-liquid chemicals and food-grade products. With a fleet of more than 45,000 tank containers, we own a worldwide network of 22 owned and joint venture depots.

What you will be doing

As the Global Depots Safety Coordinator, you will be vital in ensuring regulatory safety compliance across all STC depots, including advising joint venture depots. You will be tasked with maintaining and enforcing company safety regulations, identifying potential safety compliance issues, and providing resolutions. In this role, you will lead improvements in safety management and oversee depot safety training initiatives, ensuring that safety standards and training are consistently updated and adhered to. Collaborating with the Global Director of Safety and SHEQ management, you will monitor and analyze safety trends and statistics, developing global safety standards while training and developing local management and employees. Part of your role will involve conducting audits, managing certifications, and fostering a safety-oriented culture through meetings, incident investigations, and addressing near misses and accidents. Your interaction with multiple teams and stakeholders will require excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong strategic planning capabilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure regulatory safety compliance at STC depots and provide advice to joint venture depots.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in depot safety management.
  • Conduct internal and external audits, manage third-party certifications, and report findings.
  • Develop, guide, and train local management and employees on safety standards and procedures.
  • Analyze and report safety trends and statistics to the Global Director of Safety and SHEQ Management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English; trained Internal Auditor is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics/transportation industry; chemicals experience preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience in safety management and regulations/standards (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, SQAS, IMPCAS etc.).
  • Self-starter, eager to learn, independent worker with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented, ethical, organized, and capable of high-level overview prioritization.
  • Licensed driver with valid passport; able to travel as required.
