The Monad Foundation is a team of dedicated ecosystem and community builders who are on a mission to massively grow the impact of decentralized tech. We believe that the Monad blockchain--the performant and parallel EVM Layer 1--will help decentralized apps eat the world.

The Role

The role of Global Events will own the strategy, planning, and execution of the Monad Foundation’s global event presence. You will build strong vendor and agency relationships, use data and insights to measure and improve outcomes, and create thoughtful, memorable experiences for a wide range of audiences including, but not limited to, builders and developers, community members, users, tokenholders, and Web2 and Web3 organizations.

Your work will define the Monad event experience globally and ensure that every hosted or sponsored event consistently delivers a high bar for quality, cohesion, and impact. The ideal candidate is highly organized, creatively driven, and energized by bringing people together through flawless planning, project management, and execution.

What You Will Do

Events Strategy and Execution

  • Identify opportunities for long-term, recurring, and/or scalable events that are in support of Monad Foundation initiatives and priorities

  • Own the planning and execution of hosted and/or sponsored events, ranging from small gatherings to large scale conferences across domestic and international destinations

  • Define event goals, OKRs, success metrics, and conduct data-driven postmortems to continuously improve event impact and ROI

Budget and Process Management

  • Demonstrate proficiency in financial management and prudent spend philosophy in order to establish and manage event budgets and timelines

  • Negotiate vendor contracts and manage financial reconciliation post-event

  • Manage relationships with vendors, agencies, and other external stakeholders

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work alongside leadership and key internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional experiences that capture and maximize ROI based on department objectives

  • Assess and adapt to regional, cultural, and venue-specific requirements to ensure events are locally resonant and operationally sound

Operational Excellence and Execution

  • Develop and maintain operational standards and playbooks to encourage consistent branding, elements, and ambiance across diverse event types

  • Maintain and champion a high degree of quality across all stages of event planning, production, and execution

  • Demonstrate resourcefulness in decisionmaking and driving events workstreams to completion, without compromising high standards

Who You Are
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

  • Comfortable owning projects independently while managing multiple priorities

  • Have a track record of resourceful decision making and completion of workstreams

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to collaborate across cultures and time zones

  • Creatively inclined with a strong eye for design and the ability to translate ideas into execution

Requirements
  • Minimum 7+ years of significant event planning experience, including:

    • Ownership of complex events from conception to completion

    • Management of direction and execution of both small and large-scale, multi-day events

  • Comfortable working off-hours, being on-call, and adapting to flexible schedules as per event requirements

  • Ability to be onsite and the designated POC for events, with up to 30% travel required domestically and internationally

  • Experience with events across multiple geographic locations and time zones, including comfort with navigating cultural or language barriers

  • Exceptional command of time management, communication, project management, and prioritization

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly under pressure

  • Knowledge of fabrication, event technology, AV production, and digital integration

Preferred
  • Experience building events within the Web3/crypto industry

  • Experience working within fast-paced startup environments

Why Work with Us
  • Challenging problems. You’ll work on extremely challenging problems with massive impact.

  • Huge opportunity. The Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) standard is ubiquitous, but existing EVM-compatible chains are slow and bandwidth-constrained. Monad’s core innovations offer developers the best of both worlds (portability and performance) and are a game-changer for mass user adoption in crypto.

  • The right team. You’ll be part of an exceptional and highly-motivated team

  • Culture. We’re a lean team working together to achieve very ambitious goals. We are united in our culture of collaboration, low ego, and high-quality output. As an early member of our team, you’ll help continue to shape our culture.
