Binti builds software for state and county government agencies, focusing on reinventing social services. We started in child welfare, with the mission of helping every child have a safe, loving, and stable family. To date, we’ve helped approve more than 100,000 families to foster or adopt, and we support over 49% of the nation’s child welfare system. We have expanded our product offerings in child welfare, moving more to the root of the problem, helping families stay together and avoid separation, and are now expanding horizontally across other areas in social services.

Binti is a for-profit, mission-driven software company based in San Francisco, CA. Investors include Founders Fund, First Round Capital, Kapor Capital, and others. We’re a team of ~90 people and growing quickly. We care about creating a workplace where everyone feels welcome and can bring their full self to work. We have a huge, ambitious vision to rewire government to be more effective in expanding opportunities for people around the world, and we are looking for mission-driven, high-empathy, high-performance, and low-ego team members to join us on our exciting journey towards that vision.

Government Affairs Representative

Binti is seeking an experienced, highly organized Government Affairs Representative/Senior Representative to help scale and operationalize our state government affairs strategy and external partnerships. Reporting directly to our CEO, Felicia Curcuru, this role serves as a critical partner in managing complex state-level advocacy efforts, coordinating with lobbyists and policymakers, and ensuring our government affairs work stays aligned, accountable, and on track.

This role blends strategic coordination, executive-level engagement, and operational rigor. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with senior government officials, navigating competing priorities, and having direct, sometimes uncomfortable, conversations to move work forward. In addition to government affairs, this role will help formalize and manage key partnerships across the child welfare and public sector ecosystem.

This is an opportunity to take real ownership in a fast-growing, mission-driven SaaS company that is reimagining how government works for families and children.

Core ResponsibilitiesState Government Affairs
  • Partner closely with the Senior Director of Government Affairs to execute and scale Binti’s state government affairs strategy across multiple states and stakeholders

  • Serve as a consistent point of contact for state lobbyists, ensuring clear goals, follow-through, and accountability

  • Coordinate and participate in meetings with governors’ offices, chiefs of staff, policy directors, legislative staff, and other senior officials

  • Track and manage ongoing state government engagements, including action items, follow-ups, timelines, and outcomes

  • Help ensure lobbyists and external partners are fully aligned on Binti’s product offerings, positioning, and priorities

  • Support scheduling and coordination across internal teams (including sales and government strategy) to ensure effective participation in key meetings and events

Partnerships and External Relationships
  • Own and manage a portfolio of strategic partnerships with consulting firms, former agency leaders, policy influencers, and other organizations in the child welfare and CCWIS ecosystem

  • Develop and maintain thoughtful engagement strategies for each partner, including goals, cadence, and internal alignment

  • Represent Binti confidently with external partners, instilling trust and credibility at an executive level

Research, Materials, and Operations
  • Monitor and synthesize relevant legislative, regulatory, and political developments impacting child welfare and public sector technology

  • Draft and review policy briefs, presentations, memos, and briefing materials for internal and external audiences

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of contacts, engagements, and partnership activity

  • Support planning and execution of Binti’s participation in organizations and events such as RGA, DGA, and similar associations

  • Attend meetings, hearings, and events as needed, including occasional travel (up to 25%)

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, legislative affairs, consulting, or a closely related field

    • Direct experience with state government affairs strongly preferred

  • Proven ability to work confidently with senior stakeholders, including governors’ offices, legislative leadership, and executive partners

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage many parallel workstreams without losing momentum

  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Comfort having direct, sometimes difficult conversations to drive accountability and results

  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams

  • Interest in child welfare, government innovation, and mission-driven work

  • Thrives in a startup environment, comfortable with ambiguity and evolving priorities

What We Value
  • Break through walls: Resourceful and creative in outreach and relationship-building, finding alternative paths when access is limited

  • Ownership and accountability: Takes responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks

  • Resilience and persistence: Comfortable with rejection and able to maintain momentum over long policy cycles

  • Judgment and discretion: Knows when to escalate, when to push, and when to pause

  • Commitment to Binti’s mission to improve outcomes for children and families
