The Groups Pastor leads the Life Groups Ministry, recruits and trains leaders, oversees discipleship classes, and coordinates group environments. They ensure participation and provide resources for group effectiveness.
Position Description
The Groups Pastor sets the vision for Austin Ridge’s Life Groups Ministry and our Disciple making Groups Ministry. He recruits and trains leaders, coordinates small group environments, and oversees various discipleship/equipping classes and events.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities for the D-group Ministry:
- Champion the need for D-group participation among staff and leadership
- Expand D-group ministry through recruiting and equipping new leaders
- Maintain good relationships with leaders and provide continual motivation, feedback, and training
- Create content for D-groups and communicate with leaders on how to incorporate it into their groups
- Actively encourage staff and church members to lead and/or be equipped in a D-group environment
- Regularly communicate to the church body D-group opportunities and how they can be discipled to make disciples
- Create budgets and ministry strategies
- Participate in other ministry duties as determined by the Lead & Executive Pastors

Qualifications
Key Competencies and Qualifications:
- Mature, growing disciple of Jesus
- Meets the spiritual qualifications found in I Timothy, Titus, and I Peter
- Possesses seminary education or equivalent training
- Exhibits a missional lifestyle and mindset
- Demonstrates a passion for making disciples
- Strategic thinker
- Has a pulse on current trends and effective approaches to making disciples
- Self-motivated
- Able to organize and administer the ministry
- Displays strong interpersonal skills
- Capable team leader and multiplier of people
- Cultural fit with the Ridge
