The Role

As an Ecommerce Growth Lead, you will serve as the strategic quarterback for a pod of specialized marketers and the CMO-level partner to our clients. You will own the full growth vision and execution for your client portfolio, combining deep ecommerce expertise with exceptional leadership and communication skills. This role requires someone who thrives in complexity, thinks strategically while executing tactically, and finds fulfillment in both client success and team development.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary strategic partner and day-to-day contact for an assigned portfolio of ecommerce clients, maintaining trusted advisor relationships
  • Lead weekly client strategy sessions, presenting performance insights, growth opportunities, and strategic recommendations with clarity and confidence
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive growth strategies that span the entire customer lifecycle, from acquisition through retention
  • Monitor daily account performance and pacing against revenue targets, proactively identifying areas requiring adjustment or optimization
  • Lead and mentor a pod of specialized marketers (media buyers, retention specialists, creative strategists), setting clear objectives and fostering professional growth
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses of client businesses to identify growth constraints, competitive advantages, and expansion opportunities
  • Collaborate with your pod to establish weekly priorities and strategic initiatives aligned with quarterly and annual growth targets
  • Translate complex marketing performance into clear, actionable insights that inform client decision-making and resource allocation
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables across multiple workstreams, ensuring consistent execution and follow-through
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively develop solutions before issues escalate, maintaining a calm and solution-oriented approach
  • Partner with internal teams across departments to leverage agency expertise and resources for client benefit
  • Track and report on key performance indicators including ROAS, CAC, LTV, revenue attribution, and efficiency metrics across paid media, email, and SMS channels
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in ecommerce growth marketing with a proven track record of scaling direct-to-consumer businesses
  • Demonstrated experience developing holistic growth strategies that integrate paid acquisition (social and search), email marketing, SMS, and conversion optimization
  • History of managing advertising budgets exceeding $100,000 per month across Meta, Google Ads, and/or TikTok platforms
  • Strong expertise in email and SMS marketing strategy, including lifecycle program development and retention optimization
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading teams or managing cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Expert proficiency with core ecommerce marketing platforms including Shopify, Meta Ads Manager, Google Analytics, Klaviyo, and Google Ads
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data from multiple sources into strategic recommendations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences
  • High emotional intelligence, including demonstrated ability to build trust, manage expectations, and navigate difficult conversations
Nice to Have
  • Agency experience or previous client-facing role managing multiple accounts simultaneously
  • Experience with data analytics and reporting tools such as Looker, Supermetrics, or Triple Whale
  • Proficiency with project management platforms including Asana or Notion
  • Experience managing subscription or loyalty programs for ecommerce brands
  • Track record of scaling brands from $1M to $10M+ or $20M to $50M in annual revenue
