By leveraging cutting-edge machine learning (ML) techniques and large language models (LLMs), we empower individuals to achieve their metabolic health goals, the most important metric for overall health- from weight loss, to muscle gain, to improved energy levels. And all done by delivering precisely optimized meals to each user at all times.

We are seeking an innovative Head of AI and Data Science to lead the development of our core algorithms and AI systems. This role is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of targeted nutrition technology, shaping the future of personalized health and wellness.

Responsibilities

As the Head of AI, you will:

1. Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and drive the data science vision and strategy, aligning with company objectives.

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing data science team.

2. Algorithm Development & Optimization

  • Build and fine-tune ML algorithms for personalized meal planning based on user data (e.g., macronutrient profiles, weight changes, hunger feedback).

  • Research and implement advanced machine learning techniques, including reinforcement learning, to improve system adaptability over time.

3. Integration of Language Models (LLMs)

  • Develop conversational interfaces powered by LLMs to enhance user engagement and gather actionable feedback.

  • Ensure LLM interactions are aligned with nutritional science and ethical AI practices.

4. Data Analysis & Feedback Loops

  • Design feedback loops to track user progress and adjust recommendations accordingly.

  • Oversee the creation of dashboards and reports to monitor key performance metrics.

5. Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and marketing teams to to translate scientific insights into user experiences.

  • Ensure clear communication of complex data science concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

1. Educational Background:

  • Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.

2. Technical Expertise:

  • Extensive experience with classical machine learning, including supervised and unsupervised techniques and proficiency in reinforcement learning and optimization algorithms.

  • Hands-on experience working with LLMs and natural language processing (NLP) frameworks.

  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages, with expertise in frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.

  • Solid understanding of data engineering principles, including database design, ETL processes, and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).

3. Domain Knowledge:

  • Experience with nutrition science, health metrics, and fitness tracking is a FIRM REQUIREMENT. DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS.

5. Other Skills:

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
