Spreetail is seeking a Head of BI to lead the transformation of our Finance data ecosystem into a governed, scalable, and decision-ready foundation. In this role, you will establish a single source of truth through a modern Snowflake/dbt semantic layer, align the organization on finance-approved KPIs, and simplify reporting by certifying trusted, reusable datasets. Blending hands-on technical expertise with change leadership, you will improve data reliability, speed, and cost efficiency while enabling Finance data to power dashboards, APIs, AI/ML initiatives, automation, and critical operational workflows across the business.
How you will achieve success:
- Build and operationalize a governed, versioned Finance semantic layer in Snowflake/dbt that standardizes KPIs and definitions across BI, APIs, AI/ML, and automation.
- Facilitate high-impact KPI debates, translate decisions into durable data contracts, and implement structured change management with clear downstream communication.
- Consolidate dashboard sprawl into a curated, certified portfolio with clear ownership, SLAs, documentation, and release transparency.
- Implement robust data quality testing, lineage visibility, and incident management to deliver >98% freshness during close and forecast cycles.
- Optimize Snowflake and Power BI performance, eliminate redundant transformations, and publish cost/performance scorecards to improve speed and lower total cost of ownership.
What experiences will help you in this role:
- Experience modernizing complex BI ecosystems through standards, governance, and incremental architectural improvements without slowing the business.
- Strong Snowflake modeling, dbt (testing, documentation, CI), and Power BI (semantic models, DAX, RLS, deployment pipelines) experience building reusable data products.
- Demonstrated ability to translate nuanced KPI discussions (GMV, margin metrics, ASP, refunds, etc.) into governed, scalable enterprise data models.
- Experience improving query performance and reducing TCO across the data lifecycle while balancing trade-offs between speed, flexibility, and governance.
- Success partnering with Finance, Operations, Merchandising, CX, Technology, and executive stakeholders to align on metrics, roadmap priorities, and scalable data foundations.
