We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Job Summary:

The Head of Commercial Transformation is responsible for defining and advancing the commercial growth strategy across PayPal’s commerce ecosystem. This leader will drive scalable revenue expansion by enhancing our overall small business experience (onboarding, ads, cart abandonment), strengthening the strategic eComm proposition, and aligning product, marketing, sales, and operations around a unified growth agenda.

Operating horizontally across the organization, this role will identify, prioritize, and scale high-impact commercial initiatives that increase adoption, deepen merchant engagement, and unlock new sources of value. The ideal candidate brings strong strategic judgment, cross-functional influence, and operational rigor – balancing long-term vision with disciplined execution to deliver measurable business results.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drive revenue growth and global market expansion by identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships, channels, and opportunities
  • Lead the negotiation with external partners and engage cross-functional support colleagues to ensure the successful delivery of solutions for large complex partnerships
  • Develop and execute an overall business strategy to identify and cultivate strategic partnerships, channels, and opportunities to drive revenue growth and global market expansion
  • Influence the negotiation with external partners, engaging cross-functional support colleagues, to ensure successful delivery of solutions for large complex partnerships
  • Align product and business levers (such as pricing and FX) to maximize revenue and market expansion opportunities
  • Engage closely with product, engineering, and architecture teams to drive the architectural runway and determine the best technical implementation/design
  • Represent the end customer on an ongoing basis and use this knowledge to drive effective prioritization and decision-making

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 12+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Deliver merchant-first growth: Design and execute initiatives that create a seamless, differentiated merchant experience, increasing adoption and deepening usage of PayPal’s commerce solutions

  • Drive strategic commercial growth: Lead high-impact strategic projects, partnerships, and product strategies that accelerate Commerce partner performance and support achievement of commercial goals

  • Scale merchant playbooks: Develop and institutionalize scalable commercial playbooks that enable commerce merchants to expand reach, increase monetization, and unlock new growth vectors

  • Expand aftermarket value creation: Identify and deliver value-added services — including abandoned cart solutions, sales channel applications, and PayPal Ads strategies — that drive incremental revenue and strengthen merchant lifetime value

  • Champion Product-Led Growth (PLG): Embed a product-led growth mindset across marketing and go-to-market motions, aligning product capabilities with scalable acquisition and expansion strategies

  • Unify product market positioning: Clarify and elevate the market narrative across Branded Checkout, BNPL, Venmo, and adjacent offerings — positioning them as integrated, high-impact commerce solutions for partners and merchants

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12–15+ years of experience in commercial leadership, growth, go-to-market, business operations, or general management roles

  • Demonstrated track record of expanding commercial levers and driving multi-product or multi-segment growth in complex, matrixed organizations

  • Experience leading cross-functional transformation or performance acceleration efforts

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders and align diverse stakeholders around a unified commercial agenda

  • Strong financial and analytical acumen, with the ability to connect commercial decisions to measurable P&L impact

  • Experience in SMB, payments, fintech, SaaS, or platform-based ecosystems preferred

  • Ability to operate at both strategic and operational altitudes — setting direction while ensuring disciplined execution and delivery

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:
