Lead and manage the engineering team developing Spire’s core appchain and Layer 2 infrastructure. Drive projects from design through production, establish realistic roadmaps, contribute to Rust infrastructure and Solidity smart contracts, and represent the company at industry events. The role requires deep Solidity or Rust expertise, rollup and L2 development experience, hands-on engineering leadership, production delivery experience, and familiarity with modular blockchain ecosystems, fraud proofs, shared sequencing, zero-knowledge technology, and data availability.
This is a remote position.
The employer is a Based Appchain framework on Ethereum enabling people to spin up app-specific L2s that are composable with Ethereum mainnet and other app chains.
They are opening an Head of Engineering role (Remote EU) on a permanent basis.
As the Head of Engineering, you will manage and lead the engineering team in building the core of Spire’s products, bringing designs to production.
MISSIONS :
- Take engineering projects from design to production while working with our developers to manage realistic roadmaps.
- Implementation of Spire core infra in Rust and smart contract development in Solidity.
- Participate and talk in an event, conference or podcast.
Profil
- Very strong solidity OR some Rust with strong open source contributions or track record with reputable companies.
- Experience building rollups/L2s.
- Experience as a Lead Engineer or hands on Engineering Manager with a solid track record at impressive companies.
- Examples of smart contracts deployed / repos to demonstrate strengths.
- Experience working at a company building an L2 or deep exp with L2 development (at a company offering rollups as a service or similar).
- Enthusiasm for the modular and rollup ecosystem.
- Proficiency with Solidity and Rust, and competent with VMs.
- Experience shipping and taking engineering projects to production.
Nice to have
- A deep understanding of fraud prrofs and other rollups details.
- Familiarity with the AggLayer, Espresso, and other modular products.
- Strong knowledge of shared sequencing.
- Understanding of ZK and DA.
Informations contractuelles
Contract : Permanent

Salary : 200 to 300k USD (including equity package)
