The Role

As Head of Government Relations, you will lead Securitize's engagement with federal and state regulators, elected officials, policy leaders, and industry associations. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role reporting directly to the President of Securitize.

You will be Securitize's leader in building and executing a strategy that shapes a positive regulatory environment for the tokenization of funds and securities. Your mandate is to ensure that the rules, regulations, and statutes being developed today enable — rather than impede — the responsible adoption of blockchain technology in financial markets.

This role requires operating simultaneously at multiple levels: building trusted relationships with senior regulators and legislative staff, developing rigorous policy positions, and translating complex regulatory developments into clear strategic guidance for the business. You will work cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Product, and Communications, and will serve as a member of Securitize's leadership team.

You will be responsible for ensuring that: (a) Securitize's key policy positions are well-defined and prioritized; (b) the right meetings with regulators and policymakers are consistently happening; (c) comment letters, position papers, and testimony are drafted and delivered with credibility and impact; and (d) follow-up activities are executed to drive optimal policy outcomes. You will also monitor and brief leadership on regulatory and legislative developments — both domestic and international — that could meaningfully affect our business, positively or negatively.  Additional opportunities will exist for building a team to expand the role internationally, depending on the connections and experience of the candidate selected.

Responsibilities
  • Build and execute Securitize's federal and state government relations strategy, with particular focus on the SEC, CFTC, FINRA, Treasury, and key Congressional committees (Banking, Finance, Agriculture)
  • Cultivate and manage trusted, long-term relationships with regulators, legislative staff, trade associations, and policy think tanks
  • Serve as a credible educator for policymakers and regulators — helping them understand how tokenization and blockchain-based financial infrastructure can integrate constructively with existing regulatory frameworks in ways that benefit markets and investors
  • Monitor, analyze, and brief leadership on regulatory and legislative developments affecting tokenized securities, digital asset infrastructure, and private markets — flagging both risks and opportunities
  • Support and/or represent Securitize in public comment processes, congressional testimony, roundtables, and industry working groups
  • Develop and communicate clear policy positions, advocacy materials, comment letters,  and thought leadership content in collaboration with Legal, Compliance, and Communications; represent Securitize at industry conferences and in the media on policy topics
  • Manage external lobbying counsel and coordinate coalition activity across industry stakeholders; evaluate and potentially lead the formation of or participation in industry trade groups or coalitions where Securitize's voice can drive outcomes
  • Partner with Product and Compliance to translate regulatory requirements and emerging policy trends into operational guidance and product roadmap input
  • Advise the President and executive leadership on emerging regulatory risks and opportunities, ensuring Securitize is proactively — not reactively — positioned for shifts in the policy landscape
What You Bring
  • 10+ years in government relations, public policy, or regulatory affairs, with meaningful experience in financial services, fintech, or digital assets
  • Established relationships with senior staff at the SEC, CFTC, Treasury, and/or relevant Congressional offices
  • Understanding of U.S. securities law, AML/BSA frameworks, and emerging digital asset regulatory proposals (Clarity Act, stablecoin legislation, tokenization guidance)
  • A track record of educating and influencing policymakers on complex or innovative financial technologies
  • Experience building or leading a government relations function — developing strategy, setting priorities, and managing external counsel and coalition partners
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication — you can write a comment letter, a board brief, and congressional testimony with equal credibility, and you can make complex regulatory concepts accessible to non-experts
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment where you can build effective structure and process
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience on Capitol Hill, at a federal financial regulator (SEC, CFTC, OCC, Treasury), or in a senior policy role at a leading financial institution, fintech, or digital asset firm
  • J.D. or advanced degree in public policy, economics, or a related field
  • Existing fluency in blockchain and tokenization concepts and their regulatory implications
  • Strong existing network of relationships with senior regulators and policymakers in financial services
