Job Description
Group Technology and Operations (GTO) provides software and system development, information technology support services and banking operations.
We have centralized and standardized the technology components into Singapore, creating a global footprint which can be utilized for supporting our regional subsidiaries and the branches around the world. We operate and support 19 countries with this architecture to provide a secure and flexible banking infrastructure.
Our Operations divisions provide transactional customer services for our businesses while also focusing on cost efficiency through process improvements, automation and straight through processing.
Who we’re looking for and what you’ll do
- Reporting to the Managing Director, Head of Group Infrastructure & Platform Services (GIPS).
- GIPS has two distinct functions – Plan & Change and Control & Run. This role is responsible for leading Plan & Change.
- Within GIPS, Plan & Change, leading teams across ASEAN and north Asia, you’ll oversee three teams - Service Automation, Service Build & Engineering and Service Strategy & Planning. In addition, there will be indirect supervision for Network for change management oversight.
- You will provide overall leadership and management of data centres, IT infrastructure (hosts, servers, storage), common platforms architecture & engineering, end-user computing, monitoring, and infrastructure projects for the bank.
- Responsibilities include:
- Planning, delivery, execution and driving operational excellence.
- Ensuring our IT infra services are efficient, stable, and reliable.
- Improving the Bank’s IT capabilities and driving IT innovation for scale, that is centralised, standardised and sustainable.
- Ensuring optimised investment choices that are fit for purpose that add real value.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance of the IT infra services provided.
The competencies, knowledge, experience and qualifications you’ll need to succeed
- An executive with a proven technology operations/infra background with extensive experience, grounded in operational excellence and strategic management who is commercially astute.
- As a seasoned technologist (preferably Banking) you bring a strong appreciation and understanding of a range of technologies to provide strategic and tactical guidance.
- A successful track record of delivering results and leading cross functional teams in a complex environment with the ability to work within a structured and regulated landscape. You understand the reality of technology and what works best in this setting.
- A hands-on leader who can appreciate the detail and complexity who can navigate ambiguity well. Flexible and pragmatic.
- You provide inspiration and clear direction capable of setting a tech vision and turning this into measurable results.
- A full appreciation for customer/user expectations and the customer journey.
- Lead and provide oversight on investment approval, considerations, implications, and overall key decisions. Anticipate challenges, risks and define success criteria.
- The ability to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- An ability to develop, coach and guide to raise individual and team capability.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence.
- A high level of integrity, ethical behaviour, and trustworthiness.
