Leads and builds Donorbox’s product marketing function, owning positioning, messaging, product-led growth, launches, enablement, competitive intelligence, and performance measurement. Partners with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing to drive acquisition, conversion, retention, and expansion. Manages one direct report, establishes scalable processes and KPIs, influences roadmap priorities, and presents data-driven insights to executive leadership.
The Role
As Head of Product Marketing, you'll build and lead the product marketing function at Donorbox, making it a key driver of growth, conversion, and retention. This role reports to our SVP of Marketing. You'll own our positioning and messaging across diverse nonprofit audiences, define our Product-Led Growth strategy, and partner closely with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing to bring launches to market. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll manage one Product Marketing Manager while building the frameworks and processes the team needs to scale.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership, Strategy & Scalable Operations
- Direct Management: Lead, mentor, and manage 1 direct report (Product Marketing Manager), setting clear team goals, priorities, and performance standards.
- PLG & Growth Strategy: Hands-on definition and execution of Product-Led Growth (PLG) strategies to turn product usage into a direct driver of customer acquisition, monetization, and expansion.
- Process & Scale: Build and formalize scalable PMM frameworks, playbooks, and standardized launch tiers to create predictable impact across high-velocity feature releases.
- Cross-Functional Coordination & ICP Alignment
- Lead tightly coordinated, ongoing efforts across Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing to align launch timelines, narrative integrity, and revenue goals.
- Partner with Sales and CS leadership to identify enablement priorities that shorten deal cycles and improve retention across our target ICPs.
- Data-Driven GTM & Performance Management
- Establish clear, outcome-based KPIs for Product Marketing initiatives (e.g., launch adoption rates, GTM campaign conversion, pipeline velocity, churn reduction).
- Continuously track and report on campaign and feature effectiveness, bringing data-driven insights and rigorous analysis to executive leadership presentations.
- Combine product usage data, market performance metrics, and financial KPIs to validate messaging, pricing/packaging proposals, and GTM investments.
- Positioning, Messaging, Sales Enablement & Roadmap Influence
- Messaging & Value Propositions: Own Donorbox’s central "Messaging House," defining core value propositions and competitive differentiation across diverse B2B2C ICPs (e.g., global NGOs, faith-based organizations, local communities).
- Sales & CS Enablement Assets: Build high-impact GTM assets and narratives that empower Sales and Customer Success to win, retain, and expand accounts. Equip customer-facing teams with battlecards, objection-handling guides, pitch decks, and competitive tear-downs rooted in validated customer pain points.
- Roadmap Influence & Intelligence: Act as the primary voice of the market to Product Management (PM), leveraging competitive intelligence, win/loss analysis, and customer feedback to shape product roadmap priorities.
- Research Synthesis & Application
- Synthesize broad behavioral data and macro-level intelligence provided by the broader Marketing team, converting it into actionable buyer personas, messaging strategies, and positioning frameworks. Own competitive intelligence and monitoring.
What You Bring
- 7+ years of progressive experience in Product Marketing leadership in SaaS, B2B, or B2B2C environments.
- Management & Process Design: Proven experience managing PMM team members and building scalable, standardized processes from the ground up.
- Product-Led Growth (PLG) Expertise: Hands-on experience developing strategies for self-serve conversion, product adoption loops, and freemium/tiered growth tactics.
- Deeply Data-Driven: Exceptional analytical ability to use quantitative metrics, product usage data, and KPI tracking to evaluate campaign performance and present business cases to the leadership team.
- KPI Definition & Ownership: Track record of defining clear performance metrics and consistently measuring the effectiveness of product marketing outcomes.
- Cross-Functional Orchestration: Strong track record of coordinating closely with Product, Sales, and CS to drive aligned commercial results.
- Outstanding narrative and messaging capabilities across distinct ICPs.
