Hi! This is the Flipper team.
We are the creators of Flipper Zero — a portable device for tech enthusiasts and engineers. It’s a gadget with an awesome community that brings together millions of people around the world.
We're building new products:

  • Flipper One — a full-featured ARM-based computer running Linux in a compact form factor, powered by the Rockchip RK3576 SoC.

  • BUSY Bar — a smart productivity multi-tool that helps users stay focused and minimize distractions.

We're looking for a Head of Production Test Engineering to lead the team responsible for production testing of our physical devices and ensure that tests, equipment, software, and instructions are ready for new product launches and mass production.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a unified production testing roadmap covering new products, product launches, mass production support, and infrastructure improvements, with clear priorities, timelines, owners, and resource requirements

  • Lead the engineering team, allocate resources, develop team capabilities, and balance urgent production issues with planned work

  • Coordinate dependencies across hardware, firmware, manufacturing, and other teams, identifying risks and blockers early to ensure production testing is ready for product launches

  • Define production testing strategies and acceptance criteria with the team and oversee the development and maintenance of test fixtures, equipment, software, and infrastructure, including for new products such as Flipper One

  • Coordinate test deployment at factories, maintain up-to-date instructions and test result monitoring, and work with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify root causes of defects and validate fixes

  • Analyze production test data, returns, and support cases to identify systemic issues and turn recurring defects into concrete improvements to the product, manufacturing process, or testing

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with electronics production testing and a strong understanding of the full product lifecycle from prototype to mass production

  • Strong technical foundation, including the ability to read and develop schematic, use measurement equipment, solder, and troubleshoot interactions between electronics, firmware, and test software

  • Hands-on experience developing or implementing automated tests and production test fixtures, with strong Linux and Python skills, including pytest

  • Experience leading an engineering team, including planning, prioritization, resource allocation, and people development

  • Experience managing cross-team dependencies and working directly with factories on technical requirements, production changes, and issue resolution

  • English proficiency sufficient for working calls, written communication, and technical documentation with factories

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience launching production on-site in China and working directly with Chinese factories

  • Confident use of AI tools for rapid prototyping

What we offer:

  • Choose your work format: office, hybrid, or fully remote from anywhere in the world.

  • You will be provided with all the necessary equipment for a comfortable working environment.

  • Benefits such as VHI, corporate sports, foreign language courses, and therapy sessions.

  • A five-day workweek with a flexible start of the working day.
