About Wing:

Wing offers drone delivery as a safe, fast, and sustainable solution for last mile logistics. Consumer appetites for on-demand services are increasing, but current delivery methods are inefficient, costly, and contribute to road accidents and air pollution. Wing’s fleet of highly automated delivery drones can transport small packages directly from businesses to homes on-demand, in minutes. We design, build, and operate our aircraft, and offer drone delivery services on two continents. Our technology is designed to be easy to integrate into existing delivery and logistics networks, offering a scalable drone delivery solution for a broad range of businesses. Wing is a part of Google's parent company, Alphabet, and our mission is to create the preferred means of delivery for the planet. If you're ready to do the greatest work of your life, come join us.

About the Role:

Wing is looking for a Head of Strategic Finance, Commerce to join our Finance team. This role is based remotely in the United States.

Wing is reshaping the future of logistics through autonomous drone delivery. As the Head of Strategic Finance, Commerce, you will be the primary architect of our commercial engine. You will sit at the intersection of Finance, Strategy, Business Development, and Product, serving as the "CFO" for our commercial partnerships pillar.

Your mission is to design the economic frameworks for our Commerce business, ensuring Wing scales profitably while delivering massive value to merchants and consumers.

This is not a "back-office" finance role. You will be building the commercial playbook for a brand-new industry. You will help decide how Wing’s platforms are priced, scaled, and won.

What You’ll Do:

  • Commercial Strategy & Deal Desk: Lead financial innovation for commercial partnerships. Build sophisticated models to define "win-win" commercial terms, balancing merchant margins with Wing’s unit economics.
  • Network Density & Expansion: Partner with Operations to evaluate the ROI of new "Nests" (launch sites). Determine the financial readiness of new markets by balancing merchant density against projected consumer demand.
  • Incentive Design: Create data-driven frameworks for merchant-funded and Wing-funded promotions, using LTV and retention data to optimize marketing spend.
  • Executive Thought Partnership: Serve as the financial "source of truth" for leadership, providing the strategic logic behind trade-offs between Wing’s platforms.
  • Manage, coach and develop a small team of strategic finance analysts for success

What You’ll Need:

  • 15+ years (incl. 7+ years in management roles)  in Strategic Finance, Investment Banking, or Management Consulting, with deep experience in 2-sided marketplaces or high-growth logistics (e.g., Uber, DoorDash, Instacart).
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field (MBA a bonus) or equivalent practical experience
  • You are a master of financial modeling and are comfortable writing SQL to pull and analyze your own data. You find the "why" behind the numbers yourself.
  • You can distill the complexity of autonomous flight and hardware lifecycles into a clear financial story.
  • Proven ability to defend pricing logic and hold your own in high-stakes negotiations with Fortune 50 retail executives.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is the salary range below + bonus + equity + benefits. Wing’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.

Salary Range
$214,000$267,000 USD
