At Relativity Space, we’re building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. Our Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launch capacity. But that’s just the start. Achieving commercial success with Terran R will unlock new opportunities to advance science, exploration, and innovation, pioneering progress that reaches beyond the known.

Joining Relativity means becoming part of something where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level. Here, you're not just executing tasks; you're solving problems that haven’t been solved before, helping develop a rocket, a factory, and a business from the ground up. Whether you’re in propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, or a corporate function, you’ll collaborate across teams, shape decisions, and see your work come to life in record time. Relativity is a place where creativity and technical rigor go hand in hand, and your voice will help define the stories we’re writing together. Now is a unique moment in time where it’s early enough to leave your mark on the product, the process, and the culture, but far enough along that Terran R is tangible and picking up momentum. The most meaningful work of your career is waiting. Join us.

About the Team:

The Launch team operates at the intersection of every major aspect of Terran R, from stages and payloads to ground systems, launch, landing, and refurbishment. The Cape is the only place where you see it all come together, offering a level of exposure and responsibility unmatched elsewhere in the program. This is where first flights happen, where history is built on top of history, and where the scale of what's underway is unlike anything in modern aerospace. The mission stays the same, but the work evolves with every milestone: from first launch to reuse, high-cadence operations, and beyond. If you're looking to define what's next in space launch and write a new playbook, not just repeat what’s already been done, this is where it happens.

About the Role:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems that support launch infrastructure, facilities, and related operational equipment.
  • Support construction projects and daily facility operations in coordination with engineering, technician, and operations teams.
  • Implement safety practices and risk prevention measures while performing electrical work in accordance with applicable procedures and standards.
  • Estimate material needs, organize work activities, and prioritize assigned tasks to support project schedules and operational requirements.
  • Perform work in dynamic conditions, including outdoor environments and non-standard shifts, as required by business and operational needs.

About You:

  • Experience in construction, aerospace, facilities, industrial, or a related environment working with AC and DC electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E requirements related to electrical installation, maintenance, and workplace safety.
  • Experience working with 277/480V and 120/208V electrical distribution systems.
  • Experience grounding, bonding, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical distribution systems.
  • Experience installing or maintaining electrical equipment such as switchboards, panelboards, transformers, backup power systems, transfer switches, rigid conduit, or associated wiring.

Nice to haves but not required:

  • Experience interpreting construction drawings and technical documents, including plans, one-line diagrams, equipment schematics, and manufacturer instructions.
  • State electrician license or equivalent electrical certification.
  • Experience installing or maintaining electrical systems in classified locations, such as Class I, Division 2 environments.

Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at our government partner location in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

What you need to know about the Austin Tech Scene

Austin has a diverse and thriving tech ecosystem thanks to home-grown companies like Dell and major campuses for IBM, AMD and Apple. The state’s flagship university, the University of Texas at Austin, is known for its engineering school, and the city is known for its annual South by Southwest tech and media conference. Austin’s tech scene spans many verticals, but it’s particularly known for hardware, including semiconductors, as well as AI, biotechnology and cloud computing. And its food and music scene, low taxes and favorable climate has made the city a destination for tech workers from across the country.

Key Facts About Austin Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 180,500; 13.7% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Dell, IBM, AMD, Apple, Alphabet
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, hardware, cloud computing, software, healthtech
  • Funding Landscape: $4.5 billion in VC funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Live Oak Ventures, Austin Ventures, Hinge Capital, Gigafund, KdT Ventures, Next Coast Ventures, Silverton Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Texas, Southwestern University, Texas State University, Center for Complex Quantum Systems, Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences, Texas Advanced Computing Center
