First Merchants Bank is seeking a Horizon System Architect to join the team! This position will manage the processing and delivery operations functions for the enterprise. Ensure all systems achieve maximum uptime and are managed to ensure a high level of security, redundancy and performance for all clients served.

As part of this role you will: 

  • Manage maximum system uptime on all applications from a support perspective; escalate issues internally or to the vendor for resolution as required.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and resolve issues appropriate to the scope of support services; including solution vendors.
  • Manage end-user security requests for all Horizon users.
  • Manage Allink system interface that connects to online banking to provide customer balances and transactions.
  • Leading the effort to migrate customer notices from the physically printed, manually mailed notices into the Digital Delivery System to reduce cost and provide customer convenience.
  • Focus on HORIZON Customer Relationship Management System.
  • Focus on other general strategies to leverage the investment we have in the HORIZON Core System.
  • Ensure customer data is appropriately secure and protected.
  • Ensure new and existing core banking software applications are properly installed, processed, and updated in a timely manner.
  • Perform analysis on potential new computer-related hardware and software systems; provide system recommendations to senior management.
  • Continually monitor the computer industry for related hardware and/or software that is beneficial and cost-effective for a core banking solution and related processes perspective.
  • Direct data processing conversion projects for new acquisitions and/or mergers.

In order to be successful in this position, we require the following:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). 
  • Over five (5) years of core banking application support experience.

The following would be a plus: 

  • Led or participated in merger/acquisition integration activities on a core banking solution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CIS, accounting, finance, management or related field.
