Workrise is hiring an organized and detail-oriented HR Generalist to support our People Operations team in maintaining efficient HR processes and fostering a positive workplace culture. This role focuses on supporting foundational HR activities, full cycle recruiting, ensuring data accuracy, and assisting with employee lifecycle processes. This work involves dealing professionally with highly confidential information and maintaining a customer-focused orientation. The ideal candidate is a proactive team player that has a strong desire to grow in the HR field.

What you'll be doing:

  • People Operations and Talent Management
    • Administering and optimize HR processes throughout the employee journey, from onboarding to offboarding
    • Front-line face for daily employee and manager support in answering general HR questions
    • Coordination between all departments to ensure proper information flow and maintain accurate and up to date employee data across multiple databases
    • Learning and understand payroll runs and assist in payroll validation
    • Leads our New Hire Orientation; looks for ways to improve the employee experience and elevate the onboarding experience
    • Serving as point of contact for general HR questions
    • Completing employment verifications
    • Assisting with engagement surveys
    • Supporting talent team in educating employees on company policies
    • Innovating and improving the employee lifecycle, from communication strategies to internal documentation and relationship-building
    • Working on ad-hoc People Operations projects as assigned by the team to support growth and scale, as well as further your own development!
  • Talent Acquisition
    • Full cycle recruiting support. Be a consultative business consultant to source and screen candidates, coordinate interviews and review and approve standard offers
    • Curating a list of Recruiting events for participation
    • Supporting employer brand on socials: LinkedIn, Glassdoor, BuiltIn
    • Administering and managing background checks
  • Office and Company Culture
    • Facilitating team and company activities and events on an ad hoc basis
    • Supporting company ERGs as the corporate representative


What you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in an HR support role or similar position.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and data entry.
  • Familiarity with full-cycle recruiting
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR-related tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful.
  • Ability to keep confidential information.
  • Must be a self-starter with an ability to work well independently.
  • Must be resilient and embrace change and process improvements.
  • A proven track record in having worked expertly in a face-paced, dynamic and changing work environment is a must.


Additional experience preferred, but not required:

  • Experience with HRIS Bachelor's degree in HR or HR Certificatification
  • Previous people management experience


Essential Job Functions:

  • Regular, on-time attendance
  • Regular attendance in the Austin office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
  • Ability to travel to recruiting events up to 20% of the time
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to use office equipment such as a computer, copier and telephone
  • Ability to use office computer programs such as e-mail, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs
