EWC Growth is seeking a highly organized HR Generalist to support day-to-day people operations and deliver a consistent, responsive employee experience. This role serves as a key HR resource for employees and leaders, providing support across employee relations, leave and accommodation administration, HR compliance, onboarding/offboarding, and HR reporting and tracker management.
The ideal candidate combines strong HR fundamentals with excellent attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. This individual will be comfortable owning processes from intake through resolution while maintaining accurate documentation, protecting confidential information, and partnering effectively with employees, managers, and HR leadership.
Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee Relations & HR Support- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, programs, and general employee questions.
- Support employee relations matters, including documentation, performance concerns, attendance issues, policy interpretation, and workplace concerns.
- Partner with HR leadership and managers to ensure employee matters are handled consistently, promptly, and in alignment with company policies and applicable employment laws.
- Assist with investigations, corrective action documentation, and follow-up as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and case documentation.
- Manage and track employee Leaves of Absence (LOA), including FMLA and other applicable federal, state, and company-sponsored leaves.
- Coordinate the leave process from initial employee request through return to work, ensuring required documentation, notices, deadlines, and follow-up are completed.
- Support the ADA accommodation interactive process, including tracking requests, gathering appropriate documentation, coordinating with employees and leaders, and maintaining confidential records.
- Partner with payroll, benefits providers, managers, and other stakeholders to ensure leave and accommodation information is communicated appropriately.
- Maintain accurate LOA and ADA trackers and proactively follow up on upcoming deadlines, certifications, extensions, return-to-work dates, and outstanding documentation.
- Stay current on applicable leave, disability accommodation, and employment requirements and escalate complex matters when appropriate.
- Own and maintain HR trackers related to employee relations, LOA, ADA accommodations, onboarding/offboarding, compliance activities, and other people-related processes.
- Conduct regular audits of trackers and HR records to ensure information is complete, accurate, current, and consistent across systems.
- Monitor deadlines and outstanding action items and proactively follow up with employees, managers, and HR partners.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc HR reports, summaries, and status updates for HR leadership.
- Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities to improve HR processes, documentation, and reporting.
- Handle employee information with a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
- Support employee onboarding, including documentation, HR system updates, policy acknowledgments, and new-hire processes.
- Coordinate employee changes such as transfers, promotions, manager changes, status changes, and other personnel actions.
- Support offboarding activities, including separation documentation, system updates, exit processes, and coordination with appropriate partners.
- Ensure employee records and HR systems remain accurate throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Assist with HR audits, required postings, record retention, policy acknowledgments, and other compliance activities.
- Support updates to HR policies, procedures, templates, and employee communications.
- Maintain organized HR files and documentation in accordance with record-retention and confidentiality requirements.
- Participate in HR projects and process-improvement initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
- 3+ years of HR Generalist or comparable HR experience supporting multiple areas of the employee lifecycle.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience managing Leaves of Absence (LOA), including FMLA and applicable state leave requirements.
- Working knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and experience supporting or administering the accommodation interactive process.
- Strong experience maintaining and managing HR trackers, including monitoring deadlines, following up on action items, auditing data, and providing status reporting.
- Experience supporting employee relations matters, performance management, policy interpretation, and HR documentation.
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
- Experience working with HRIS and/or case management systems; strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and related business applications.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and competing priorities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees and leaders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion and sound judgment.
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate complex or higher-risk employee matters.
- SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification.
- Experience supporting a multi-location, retail, hospitality, beauty, wellness, or other service-oriented organization.
- Advanced Excel and reporting skills, including experience developing and maintaining HR dashboards or tracking tools.
- Experience identifying and implementing HR process improvements.
