Quanex is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Houston, Texas.
The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting day-to-day human resources operations across the employee lifecycle. This position partners closely with hiring managers and employees to deliver effective recruiting, onboarding, compliance, payroll, and HR administrative support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, service-minded, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What Success Looks Like:
- Identify and deliver solutions to support decisions related to talent, employee relations, recruitment, and compensation.
- Collaborate with team members to communicate and implement HR strategies.
- Assist with employee training, develop initiatives including research, organizing and conducting training programs of various topics.
- Partner with hiring managers to support recruiting efforts and ensure a smooth onboarding experience
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of multiple federal, state and local regulations to ensure compliance.
- Possess initiative to improve processes and have a customer service-orientated mindset.
- Handle bi‑weekly payroll duties, including data validation, coordination with payroll partners, and issue resolution
- Maintain HRIS data accuracy and integrity
What You Bring:
- 3–5 years of HR Generalist or similar HR experience
- Fluency in Spanish required
- PHR/HRCI Certification preferred
- Working knowledge of HR compliance, payroll processes, and employee lifecycle management
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills
The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000. The salary range will vary based on experience.
