The HR Manager handles human resources matters, providing guidance, assistance, and support to management, supervisors, and CAST (employees). Daily job duties range from complex to routine. They often include employment interviews, new hire orientation and on-boarding, preparing, and processing personnel data and records, and processing bi-weekly payroll. The HR Manager would also consult with managers and supervisors concerning individual employees or groups, identify and resolve employee-related matters, and provide guidance on management issues. This position requires the ability to lead, motivate, manage others, and work as a collaborative part of the management team.  The successful candidate will promote a harmonious workplace while keeping to the Company’s mission to be The Nation’s Storyteller®.  

Experience with high volume hiring, strict attention to detail, a high level of accuracy and the ability to ensure policy compliance in a fast-paced environment a must!!

Operating tours, attractions and retail in Boston, Charleston, Key West, Nashville, San Antonio, San Diego, St. Augustine, Savannah, and Washington, DC since 1980!

Requirements

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates communication of group insurance and other benefit programs to all employees and processes reports for changes or updates to employee files.
  • Coordinate with the Attractions Director and the Corporate HR Department when responding to critical employee relations concerns, which may range from simple to complicated matters involving various employment regulations.
  • Follow payroll processing procedures including data entry into the Time and Attendance software, adhering to deadlines and becoming proficient with paperless reporting and filing systems.
  • Conduct the ‘Onboarding’ process for all employees, including completing all post-hire paperwork, reviewing documents for the I9 process for authenticity and utilizing the E-Verify software.
  • Supervise, train, counsel, motivate, and evaluate assigned staff to achieve goals; plan and organize workloads/schedules to ensure the most effective use of the team.
  •  Participate in the interview, audition, and hiring approval process.
  • The ability to become proficient with several different on-line platforms in a reasonable period of time will be expected .

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years professional human resources experience with an emphasis on employee relations, recruiting, and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Federal, State and local employment law; specifically in Georgia
  • HR certification is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past 3 years.

  • Maintain Safe Serve and City of Savannah Bar Card requirements
  • Join and attend local SHRM Chapter meetings

Successful candidate must undergo a background search and drug testing.
