You will work on further developing a portfolio already containing client names such as DHL, Johnson & Johnson, FDA, DMV, PwC, KeyBank, Spotify, and H&R BLOCK.

About the Role:

The HR Operations Manager is a senior individual contributor role within ABBYY’s global Human Resources function and reports directly to the Director of Talent Acquisition & HR Operations. This role owns and drives HR Operations for the United States employee population and serves as the endtoend owner of HR systems of record, including HiBob (HRIS) and Greenhouse (ATS).

The position operates in a hybrid / workfromhome model and requires minimal travel, estimated at less than 5% annually. This role is designed for a handson HR operator and builder—someone who deeply understands how HR processes, systems, data, and compliance intersect and who operates with clear accountability for outcomes.

You will act as a trusted righthand partner to HR leadership, owning the design, execution, and continuous improvement of scalable, compliant HR operations while delivering a strong employee and manager experience. This role is intended for an experienced individual contributor who can build and scale operations today and who has the potential to grow into broader operational leadership over time.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Operations Ownership:

  • Own and operate HR Operations for the U.S. employee population, partnering closely with the Director of Talent Acquisition & HR Operations.
  • Drive consistent execution of global HR policies, procedures, and workflows, ensuring compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex employee and manager inquiries, delivering clear, compliant, and pragmatic guidance.
  • Own endtoend HR lifecycle processes, including onboarding, job and compensation changes, leaves of absence, and offboarding.
  • Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance across all HR systems of record.
  • Lead crossfunctional execution with Payroll, Legal, Finance, and IT to ensure coordinated, timely, and compliant HR operations throughout the employee lifecycle.

HRIS & ATS Workflow Ownership (HiBob & Greenhouse):

  • Own the endtoend workflows, configuration, and evolution of HiBob as the primary HR system of record.
  • Own ATS workflows and system alignment within Greenhouse, ensuring seamless integration between recruiting, onboarding, and downstream HR processes.
  • Design, build, and optimize workflows, automations, permissions, templates, custom fields, and lifecycle events across HR systems.
  • Translate HR and business requirements into scalable, sustainable system solutions that support growth.
  • Continuously identify and eliminate manual work, improve system usability, and strengthen data integrity.
  • Independently troubleshoot system issues and drive resolution with vendors or internal partners as needed.

HR Data, Controls & Compliance:

  • Own data integrity and systemsofrecord accuracy across HR, ATS, and downstream systems.
  • Operate with a controls mindset, ensuring audit readiness, traceability, and reconciliation of HR data.
  • Perform regular audits, reconciliations, and compliance checks, addressing issues at the root cause.
  • Design and maintain recurring and adhoc reporting to support audits, compliance, and leadership decisionmaking.
  • Own integrations and data flows between HR systems and Payroll, Finance, and IT platforms.

Process Design & Documentation:

  • Design and document scalable HR workflows, operational procedures, and SOPs across the employee lifecycle.
  • Ensure documentation accurately reflects current system configurations, policies, and operational practices.
  • Proactively identify gaps, inefficiencies, and operational risk, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead standardization efforts with global HR Operations partners while accounting for regional requirements.

 Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in HR Operations, HRIS, or People Operations, operating in a senior individual contributor capacity.
  • Handson HiBob experience required, including workflow configuration and system ownership.
  • Experience with Greenhouse or another enterprise ATS strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. HR operations and the full employee lifecycle; multistate experience required.
  • Global HR exposure is a plus.
  • Proven ability to build and scale processes, not just operate or maintain them.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with accountability for outcomes, not just participation.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in HR data, reporting, audits, and data quality management.
  • High attention to detail with a financegrade standard for accuracy, controls, and compliance.
  • Clear, confident communicator with strong judgment and a serviceoriented mindset.

Salary Range:

  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $125,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location and relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. There is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.

Here are some of our local benefits:

  • Generous Paid Time Off: Three weeks of PTO, plus 15 paid holidays, floating holidays, and increased holiday allowance based on tenure
