A Little About Us

The Yahoo HR Program Management Office (PMO) drives strategic execution at the intersection of business strategy, organizational design, and enterprise technology. We lead mission-critical people programs—from enterprise-level M&A integrations to global Total Rewards and HR digital transformations—ensuring complex initiatives land seamlessly across our global workforce. Our team operates as strategic orchestrators, combining disciplined portfolio governance with modern, AI-augmented working practices to deliver clear outcomes at high velocity.

A Little About You

We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager. This is not a coordinator role; the right person walks into a room full of senior stakeholders and commands it. They've run M&A programs before and know what it means to manage sensitive, fast-moving work with real consequences and they can hold a portfolio of programs without dropping a thread. They bring an Al-forward working style - not because it's trendy, but because it makes them faster and better.

Own a complex program portfolio

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of HR programs across M&A, Total Rewards, and cross-functional HR projects.
  • Maintain a clear, current view of portfolio health - risks, dependencies, milestones, and decisions - and communicate it up and across without being asked.
  • Structure ambiguous work into clear plans. Define scope, sequence, and success criteria before the work starts, not after.
  • Drive governance: own project documentation, decision logs, status updates, and stakeholder communications end to end.
  • Flex into whatever the portfolio needs. You pick up new workstreams quickly, move between strategic and tactical without friction.

Lead M&A project delivery

  • Serve as the primary PM for people-side M&A activity: due diligence support, integration planning, Day 1 readiness, and post-close execution.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and HR leadership to manage sensitive timelines and information with discretion and precision.
  • Build and maintain the M&A playbook - so the knowledge lives in the system, not just with one person.

Operate as an Al-forward practitioner

  • Use Al tools (including Claude and similar) as a core part of how you work - for drafting synthesis, status reporting, meeting prep, and wherever else they add speed or quality.
  • Help the team identify where Al can reduce manual effort in project management workflows and bring those ideas forward proactively.

Show up at the executive level

  • Prepare and deliver executive-ready updates, decks, and briefings that are clear and tailored to the audience.
  • Represent the PMO in senior forums. Facilitate decision-making at the leadership level when needed.
  • Build trusted relationships with HR leaders, business partners, and cross-functional stakeholders quickly and maintain them over time.

Drive change management and adoption

  • Design and execute change management approaches for programs that affect how employees or HR teams work.
  • Anticipate resistance, plan for it, and adjust.
  • Partner with HRBPs and comms to land changes well across the organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive program management experience leading large-scale, cross-functional HR initiatives or enterprise organizational transformations within a fast-paced technology or global matrixed environment.
  • Proven track record leading people-side M&A activities end-to-end, including due diligence, Day 1 readiness, talent retention, and system/cultural integration.
  • Demonstrated executive presence with significant experience advising VP+ leaders, resolving strategic cross-functional friction, and driving executive governance meetings.
  • Deep practical experience with project and portfolio management methodologies (waterfall, agile, hybrid) and enterprise collaboration toolsets (Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, or similar).
  • Demonstrated experience embedding AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT) directly into daily professional workflows for rapid data synthesis, structured analysis, and artifact generation.
  • Strong critical judgment in validating AI-generated deliverables, maintaining data confidentiality and compliance standards, and knowing when to apply automation versus manual intervention.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating within an established HR PMO or enterprise strategy office during major corporate restructuring, divestitures, or international acquisitions.
  • Formal certifications in Program Management (PMP, PgMP) or Change Management (Prosci) or equivalent practical methodology mastery.
  • Experience designing or refining automated PMO reporting workflows utilizing generative AI, workflow orchestrators, or enterprise intelligence tools.
