We are a small team of extremely high-caliber engineers, technologists, and successful startup founders, with a diverse background across industries and technologies. Our engineers have worked at large companies such as Google and Amazon, hedge funds such as Two Sigma and Jump Trading, and a variety of smaller startups that quickly grew such as Indeed, Bazaarvoice, RetailMeNot, and Vrbo. 

The Role

As a Technical Recruiter, you will be a crucial driver to help grow our team as we scale the company and mission to transform the insurance industry. You are driven by a passion for improving the world through technology. Help us to turn vision into reality. 

Our technology runs on Google Cloud and is configured with Kubernetes, leveraging various services in that environment. Our data storage layer includes BigQuery, BigTable, and Postgres. We code primarily in Kotlin, Python, Java, and JavaScript and make use of many frameworks, including Dataflow, Cloud AI Platform, KubeFlow, Spring, and React.

  • Build efficient and reliable candidate pipeline with a customer-first mindset.
  • Develop and deploy innovative solutions to solve talent acquisition business problems.
  • Manage a full cycle recruiting desk with high quality and quantity targets.
  • Identify, adopt, and evangelize best practices.
  • Measure the effectiveness of new sourcing campaigns, find, and address pipeline issues, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Work collegially and effectively as we grow a world-class, diverse team.
  • Be a company evangelist as we build our brand as an employer of choice.

  • A concise and effective communicator. You can distill complex analysis and concepts into concise takeaways and communicate effectively across all levels and functions.
  • A relationship-builder. Able to build trust quickly with internal stakeholders and customers with a high degree of empathy and a team-first collaborative attitude.
  • Work experience: 5+ years of work experience -- at a high-growth enterprise software, SaaS, or consumer internet business, with start-up experience highly preferred.
  • Academics: Undergraduate degree desired.
  • Location: Willing and able to work from the headquarters in Austin, Texas (preferred), with remote roles considered for the right candidate.

Location

Our downtown Austin office a stone's throw to the Texas Capitol where you can enjoy a stroll or lunch on the lawn, close to public transportation options and very walkable to restaurants and Town Lake.

What are some social events your company does?

We have weekly lunches at the office, which is a great way to bring the team together, as well as doing a Thursday trivia happy hour that is a mix of remote and in office participants. We’ve recently started holding quarterly onsites that have included a scavenger hunt around the city, a bbq and brewery tour, and having fun happy hours downtown.

Every team here builds on the same platform and works on facets of the same product, so there is constant communication between teams. A few great examples of this are frequent design reviews, where engineers across teams talk through new services, and biweekly demos, where teams get to show off what they have been working on lately.
