Position: IBM Database Administrator 

FT/PT Status: Full-Time

Location:Remote

Education:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field required.

Overview:
Kreative Technologies is looking for an IBM Database Administrator to install, maintain and support IBM Db2 databases. You will keep databases secure, available and performing well for the applications that depend on them.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented and calm under pressure. You should be comfortable handling routine maintenance and responding quickly to database issues.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Installs, configures, patches and upgrades IBM Db2 databases.
  • Monitors database health, capacity and performance.
  • Manages backup, recovery and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Controls user access and applies database security settings.
  • Tunes SQL and database settings to improve performance.
  • Supports developers with schema changes and deployments.
  • Maintains database documentation and runbooks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience administering IBM Db2 databases.
  • Experience with Db2 on Linux, UNIX or Windows (LUW) or z/OS.
  • Strong SQL and shell scripting skills.
  • Experience with backup, recovery and performance tuning.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Continually required to use common office equipment including but not limited to computers, phones, scanners and printers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IBM Certified Database Administrator – Db2 certification.
  • Experience with high availability tools such as HADR.
  • Experience supporting federal government contracts.

Compensation: $68,843 – $76,492 per year
