Position Summary
A Senior Consultant helps FoodChain ID’s customers successfully use technology to deliver business results. Whether it is FoodChain ID software solutions or third-party solutions from large vendors like Oracle, an Implementation Consultant guides customers through updating their business processes to take best advantage of the technology and adapting the software solution to best support them.
FoodChain ID’s customers are typically food and beverage manufacturers, retailers and restaurants which have a unique set of business challenges that our consulting team helps them address. The reputation amongst FoodChain ID’s customers and the industry is providing pragmatic solutions powered by modern technology. This is accomplished through providing personalized assistance that meet clients where they are and help them get to where they are going.
An ideal candidate has sufficient food and beverage, process manufacturing experience and/or industry PLM experience to be able to speak the same language as clients, understand their challenges and obtain credentials for themselves and the organization in this space. An ideal candidate also understands the complexities and challenges of enterprise IT projects and has experience raising issues to Senior Consultants or Leadership to develop resolutions for client success. Finally, an ideal candidate is a natural leader helping provide a clear path through, sometimes ambiguous, challenges for the combined project team to focus on achieving positive business outcomes for the client beyond just achieving the project goals.

Specific responsibilities include:
Ensure successful project delivery:
Work in partnership with the FCID project manager on your projects to own the solution.
Coordinate and manage the project activities of the FCID project team and influencing the activities of the client teams to ensure successful project execution
Identify client business/technical goals and how best to meet them
Create and manage accurate project and resource plans
Track and manage project scope
Maintain an accurate log of project actions, issues and decisions
Identify, mitigate and escalate project risks and issues
Demonstrate solid verbal and written communication skills.
Analyze, consult, synthesize and advise:
Provide functional support on projects
Achieve buy-in from stakeholders to develop a realistic project plan for software implementation.
Influence and communicate with all levels of stakeholders including senior executives, directors, managers and junior staff
Ensure the effective delivery of our services and assist in developing and growing business
Support the continual growth of the organization:
Support development of and document best practices and project methodologies
Enhance current service offerings by improving processes, templates and training material
Identify opportunities to assist our current clients further by expanding the scope of our engagements
Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies relevant to the food industry and software implementation.
Qualifications
Candidates should be an experienced consultant leader with significant experience in the manufacturing industry with a strong preference for process industries.
The successful candidate will:
Bachelor’s or graduate degree. Major in Business Administration, IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or Food Sciences preferred
Outstanding general consulting skills (soft skills, structured thinking, effective report writing and presentations, and stakeholder engagement)
Knowledge and experience of significant aspects of related disciplines such as Enterprise Software, Enterprise Architecture, Agile Software Development and Digital Technologies
Experience with Manufacturing or Retail industries preferred
Experience with Process Manufacturing industries preferred
At least 3 years of IT consulting experience in a professional services firm
Ability to operate in a fluid environment and comfortable with high levels of uncertainty
Location and travel
Remote through the US
Candidates should expect 25%-50% travel as conditions permit focused on client, prospect and team visits.
