As an Inside Sales Representative, you will prospect, qualify, and close B2B sales within the cannabis industry, while managing relationships and ensuring compliance with regulations.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven B2B Inside Sales Representative to support revenue growth within the regulated cannabis marketplace. This role focuses on prospecting, qualifying, and closing business customers within an assigned territory (or territories). These territories will be primarily new to market additions for Mood. The ideal candidate is comfortable selling in a highly regulated environment, understands consultative sales, is extremely organized, and thrives in a fast-growing, fast-paced industry.
Key Responsibilities- Prospect and engage new B2B cannabis and cannabis-adjacent accounts via phone, email, and video conferencing
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads and manage the full inside sales cycle from discovery through close
- Educate prospects on products/services while ensuring compliance with state and local cannabis regulations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with licensed operators and key decision-makers
- Maintain accurate pipeline activity, forecasts, and customer records in CRM software
- Collaborate with other departments and teams as needed to optimize sales strategies
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales quotas and activity metrics
- Stay informed on cannabis market trends, regulations, and competitive offerings
- Support account handoffs to account coordinators as needed
- Support sprint initiatives when/if we send Alchemists to meet with stores in person in various markets
- Other duties as assigned
- 2+ years of B2B inside and/or outside sales experience
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales quotas in a phone- and email-driven sales environment
- Strong communication, negotiation, and objection-handling skills
- Experience using Salesforce
- Ability to understand and sell within a regulated market
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience selling into the cannabis industry or other highly regulated markets (alcohol, pharma, financial services)
- Experience with outbound prospecting and lead generation
- Familiarity with cannabis compliance frameworks
- Base pay (hourly wage) + commission
