Integration & Application Modernization Architect

The Role

As a Principal Consultant – Integration & Application Modernization Architect, you’ll lead the design and delivery of modern, scalable application and integration architectures for complex Financial Services environments.

You’ll work closely with business and technology leaders to modernize legacy platforms, define pragmatic architecture strategies, and enable cloud-native, API-driven and distributed solutions. You’ll also help clients identify opportunities to incorporate AI capabilities into applications, customer experiences, operations and engineering, while providing technical leadership across complex transformation initiatives.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design of modern, scalable application and integration architectures for complex Financial Services environments.
  • Drive application modernization initiatives, transforming legacy platforms into cloud-native, API-driven and modern distributed architectures.
  • Design integration solutions using APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, messaging and modern integration patterns.
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to translate complex requirements into pragmatic solution architectures and modernization roadmaps, including identifying where AI can enhance applications, customer experiences, operations and engineering.
  • Provide technical leadership across application, solution, integration and enterprise architecture initiatives, acting as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of progressive technology experience, ideally spanning software development and application, solution, integration and/or enterprise architecture.
  • Strong experience in application modernization, enterprise integration, APIs, microservices and cloud-native architecture.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, alongside modern technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, serverless computing and Infrastructure-as-Code.
  • Experience designing solutions that incorporate AI, including Generative AI or machine learning, into broader enterprise architectures.
  • Strong client-facing communication and technical leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with executives, architects, engineers and developers.
  • Experience within Banking or Financial Services, with Banking experience particularly relevant to the role.
  • Consulting experience delivering complex technology transformation initiatives.
