The M&A IT integration leader will provide strategic guidance with regards to IT integration efforts to Humana’s corporate development team and integration management office (IMO) on all growth opportunities (M&As, Divestitures, Joint Ventures (JVs), and Minority Investments). This position is a direct report to the AVP, IT M&A, and will work closely with senior executives, corporate development team, IMO, acquired company representatives, and internal cross-functional IT teams in evaluating potential target companies and in the development and implementation of IT integration plans.

The Lead, M&A IT Integration drives end-to-end technology integration activities for acquired Primary Care Organization (PCO) clinics—including early-stage due diligence, investment planning, integration execution, and transition to enterprise operations. The role assesses legacy environments, estimates integration impacts, identifies risks, and enables seamless operational adoption across network, endpoints, telephony, clinical applications (e.g., Athena), analytics, and cybersecurity while protecting clinician productivity and patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
Due Diligence & Investment Planning
  • Perform IT due diligence to identify risks, integration barriers, security posture, and technical debt.
  • Evaluate infrastructure, devices, telephony, data maturity, and application footprints.
  • Develop integration cost models, investment scenarios, and ROI considerations.
  • Provide input to Transition Services Agreements (TSAs) and deal structure assumptions.
  • Communicate due diligence findings to corporate development, IMO, and senior executives.

Integration Planning & Execution

  • Conduct baseline assessments of people, processes, and technology across acquired clinics.
  • Build integration plans, tasks, milestones, and dependencies aligned to strategic rationale.
  • Lead day-to-day execution, issue resolution, and cross-functional leadership engagement.
  • Coordinate network readiness, endpoint deployment, imaging, connectivity, and telephony cutover.
  • Support Athena workflows, interfaces, peripherals, and clinic device standards.
  • Ensure EDW ingestion, mapping, lineage, and reporting continuity.
  • Transition vendor contracts, assets, and support models into enterprise operations.
  • Collaborate with IT finance on post-acquisition budget management.

  • Contribute to integration playbook maturity and best-practice evolution.
  • Serve as change agent to communicate integration intent and value.
  • Drive steering committee forums, escalation paths, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Document lessons learned and integration metrics (planned vs. actual).

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years enterprise IT experience integrating physician groups or outpatient environments.
  • Demonstrated success in multi-clinic or multi-site technology rollouts.
  • Strong background in:
    • Network/connectivity (WAN/LAN/Wi-Fi)
    • End-user computing, print, imaging, clinical peripherals
    • Telephony, call routing, IVR/contact center workflows
    • Athena (or comparable EHR) interfaces and workflows
    • Enterprise Data Warehouse ingestion patterns
  • Experience with technology due diligence, integration scoping, and investment planning.
  • Proficient in SAFe delivery, PI planning, dependency management.
  • Strong competency in Jira Align for features, dependencies, risk, and objective tracking.
  • Clear stakeholder communication with clinicians, vendors, and executives.

  • Healthcare device ecosystem familiarity (badge readers, EPCS tokens, exam room workflows)
  • HL7/FHIR understanding
  • Vendor negotiation and run-rate modeling
  • Service transition and operational readiness experience

  • Power BI reporting comfort

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$142,300 - $195,700 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
