The Data Analytics & Reporting Intern supports the collection, analysis, and reporting of business data to help drive informed decision-making. This role provides hands-on experience working with databases, writing SQL queries, and developing reports and dashboards using modern analytics tools. The intern will collaborate with team members to transform raw data into meaningful insights while gaining practical experience in data management, visualization, and business reporting within a professional IT environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in writing SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze data from relational databases

  • Support the development and maintenance of reports and dashboards using approved reporting tools

  • Help clean, organize, and prepare data for analysis and visualization

  • Perform basic data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency

  • Collaborate with team members to understand reporting requirements and business needs

  • Document data sources, report logic, and query processes

  • Participate in testing and troubleshooting of reports and analytics solutions

  • Present findings and summaries to team members in a clear and structured manner

  • Support ad hoc data requests and special analytics projects as assigned

Necessary Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic understanding of relational databases and data structures

  • Foundational knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating data

  • Familiarity with data analytics concepts and basic statistical methods

  • Experience with reporting or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel)

  • Ability to interpret data and translate findings into clear, meaningful reports

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Educational Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in at least junior or senior year of undergraduate studies. Open to graduate students as well.
