As a participant in our programs, you will gain valuable experience and make contributions through meaningful project work. You will have the opportunity to join us for trainings, networking events, and engagements with company leadership. Our 12-week intern program starts in May.

Make an impact in a fast-paced role

As a Sales Intern you will guide new customer sales by phone and support the full sales cycle. You'll be generating new business through outbound calling, email, inbound inquiries and supporting marketing events. Articulating the Akamai value proposition, you'll generate interest and enthusiasm for our solutions in the market.

As an SDR Intern, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with regional sales managers and sales representatives to observe a deal through the entire sales cycle
  • Prospecting for new sales opportunities with tools such as LinkedIn Navigator, DiscoverOrg, Zoominfo and Insidesales.com
  • Capturing, updating, and recording customer information and sales activity data into Salesforce.com (CRM)
  • Researching accounts and territories to identify new prospects that possess our Ideal Customer Profile
  • Supporting attendance to webinars, public demos, and field events through outbound phone communication

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be currently studying in a Bachelors or Masters program and returning to school after completion of the internship
  • Be self-motivated, work with minimal supervision, be highly responsible and have effective communication skills
  • Be a self-starter who is comfortable and productive in a fluid environment
  • Have experience with cold calling and prospecting (nice to have)

Work in a way that works for you

The program requires you to be available 40 hours per week during summer months (May 26th-August 14th).
This is a flexible role and may be performed at your home and/or the local Akamai office (in the country advertised). We are happy to discuss working options in this role and encourage you to speak with your recruiter in more details when you apply.
