Join our GCDS SysOps Team!

Akamai's GCDS SysOps team is responsible for maintaining and improving tools used by GCDS Operators and Engineers in support of Akamai, its customers, and the Internet worldwide. You will work with stakeholders across Operations, Site Reliability, and Engineering to empower teams with reliable tools that simplify deployment, enhance observability, and reduce operational overhead.
Our 2026 12-week Summer Intern program starts on May 26th and goes through August 14th.

In this role, you will be working to ensure continued improvement of operational workflows and tools. You will collaborate with industry-leading security experts and leaders on a global team playing a critical role in our success by designing, developing, and maintaining internal tooling and platform software for Sysops applications and networks.

As an Intern - Government SysOps, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing new features and bug fixes for containerized apps and network components on both the backend and frontend (python, react, ruby, perl, postgresql, perforce, git)
  • Creating dynamic visualizations on a Grafana dashboard and automating data ingestion for analysing operational metrics (python, bash, SQL)
  • Building and maintaining tools to improve the workflows of the Operations team through automating manual processes such as the data transfer process between networks (python)

Akamai's Summer 2026 Intern Program requires you to be available 40 hours per week during summer months (May-August).
