The Opportunity

As a Communications & Engagement Intern for Capsule, you will support the team in building Velera’s flagship user community. Capsule fosters engagement, collaboration, and co-creation between Velera and its clients. In this role, you’ll assist with community operations, engagement strategies, and communications efforts that strengthen feedback loops and reinforce Velera’s reputation as a client-first, innovation-driven organization. You’ll gain hands-on experience in community management, project coordination, and strategic communications while learning from experienced professionals.

What You’ll Do

· Communications Support: Help craft clear, compelling messaging for internal and external audiences to promote Capsule’s impact and value.

· Community Engagement: Assist with daily operations of Capsule, including moderating discussions, responding to inquiries, and fostering a collaborative environment.

· Campaign Support: Contribute to engagement initiatives such as events, experiences, and targeted communications to drive participation.

· Project Assistance: Support project coordination for Capsule initiatives, including user research Missions—help track timelines, deliverables, and reporting.

· Insights Gathering: Help synthesize feedback and share key findings with internal stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

· Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Interest in community management, client engagement, and digital platforms.

· Organized and detail-oriented with a willingness to learn project coordination skills.

· Familiarity with Figma, human-centered design, client experience, or experience design is a plus.

· Interest in UX Research and/or graphic design is also a plus.

Internship Details

· Duration: June 1-Aug 14

· Location: Remote/Telecommute

· Compensation: Paid internship, $21.00 - $23.00/hr

Over the course of this 10-week program, it is VELERA's goal to provide our interns not only with a real job experience that better prepares future graduates for their chosen profession, but to provide them the knowledge and experience vital to navigate a business environment.

In our program, interns will engage with a group of their peers in acquiring a knowledge foundation in Credit Unions, the financial industry, Six Sigma, preparing for a job search, presentation skills, and more. You will also be given opportunities to network directly with industry leaders at Velera.

Velera Intern Program Entry Qualifications

  • Completion of sophomore or junior year in an accredited undergraduate degree program with a 3.0/4.0 GPA at time of application.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate thoughts, communicate, completely, and concisely.

  • Strong, organizational, and detail skills, with the ability to consistently perform as business requests.

  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Ability to adjust easily when directions and priorities change on short notice.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite® with a heavy emphasis on Excel.

  • Proficiency in software that applies to your major and function-specific internship.

  • Passion for learning the Credit Union Industry.

Pay Equity

$21.00 - $22.00

Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
