Quantiq runs considerable "in-house" infrastructure (IPA realm) consisting of 50-100 computers ranging from high performance servers and varied datacenter hardware (switches, FPGAs, fiber optic cabling), to desktop computers with dedicated GPUs and an array of monitors and peripherals across offices.

We control the majority of the stack and create, maintain, update, and monitor a variety of systems to keep the company’s trading running smoothly. Our hardware infrastructure operates entirely on Fedora Linux and incorporates significant first- and third-party software requiring occasional maintenance. This complete infrastructure has high uptime requirements to support our critical trading operations.

Job Description:

As an IT Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the core IT infrastructure, ensuring that systems run smoothly and are consistently optimized. This role requires a mix of technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot a range of hardware, network, and software issues. You will work closely with both the Technical and Operations teams to provide support, implement solutions, and contribute to the overall success of our IT operations. Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and databases
  • Oversee the full system lifecycle, including provisioning, installation, configuration, asset management, monitoring, maintenance, and decommissioning of various systems
  • Work with vendors to procure and deploy new hardware
  • Respond to issues and requests from the Operations and Technical teams

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations, systems engineering, or a related role
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols and tools (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python)
  • Exceptional capability debugging and solving complex issues related to both hardware, low level software, and networking
  • Knowledge of network architecture
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to respond to occasional off-hour emergencies
