Job Summary:

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to design, build, and continuously improve the security posture of our on-premises and multi-cloud environments. This role is both strategic and hands-on—ideal for someone who can architect secure systems, lead cross-functional projects, and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced technology landscape that includes AI-driven initiatives, automation, and digital transformation.

Responsibilities:

Architecture & Strategy

  • Design and maintain enterprise-wide security architecture frameworks spanning on-prem, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
  • Define and enforce security-by-design principles across new projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and regulatory standards (e.g.,NYDFS,  ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2).
  • Develop and maintain zero trust and defense-in-depth strategies tailored to modern workloads, remote users, and dynamic infrastructure.
  • Lead security architecture reviews and threat modeling for major projects, new applications, and emerging technologies (including AI/ML platforms).

AI & Automation

  • Collaborate with AI/ML teams to embed security and privacy controls into data pipelines, models, and deployment environments.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve detection, response, and compliance (SOAR, IaC security scanning, policy-as-code, etc.).
  • Evaluate and integrate AI-driven security tools (e.g., anomaly detection, adaptive authentication).

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Serve as technical security lead on cross-functional initiatives, balancing strategic security objectives with agile project timelines.
  • Adapt quickly to rapidly shifting priorities, providing clear direction and risk-based recommendations to leadership and project teams.
  • Translate complex technical risks into actionable insights for business stakeholders.

Operational Excellence

  • Guide and mentor security engineers in best practices for architecture, configuration, and monitoring.
  • Partner with IT, Cloud, and Netops teams to drive secure infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD security gates).
  • Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and vendors; perform proof-of-concepts and ROI analyses.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in on-prem and multi-cloud security architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong understanding of network security, systems security, application security, and zero trust frameworks.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML platforms and data governance/security in AI workflows.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to work independently and enjoy a high degree of interaction with team members
  • Ability to contribute to a collaborative environment by consistently demonstrating teamwork, high motivation, positive behavior and effort to achieve goals and objectives
  • Self-motivated and driven
  • Maintain a sense of urgency and ability to work with and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, including the ability actively listen, and problem solve with minimal assistance
  • Demonstrates excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to a high level of accuracy
  • The ability to multi task, prioritize, work independently, and use discretion surrounding sensitive information
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude

Education and Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 in an architect-level role.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Security, Azure Security Architect, or GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer.
  • Experience with container security (Kubernetes, Docker) and serverless environments.
  • Exposure to regulatory frameworks (NYDFS, NIST, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
