Software Test Engineer

About the Role 

The Senior Software Test Engineer is responsible for executing and supporting structured software testing processes across projects and system enhancements. This role performs technical-based testing activities, contributes to project delivery, and collaborates closely with Business Analysts and Subject Matter Experts to validate requirements and ensure release readiness. 

This position requires strong experience in manual and automation testing, defect lifecycle management, and test case development. The ideal candidate leverages prior knowledge and expertise to solve problems, works independently with moderate guidance, and impacts team performance through quality execution and attention to detail. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Reviewing test cases created by test analysts and providing feedback or applying necessary updates 
  • Analyzing business requirements and coordinating with Business Analysts and Subject Matter Experts 
  • Identifying test conditions and creating detailed test cases 
  • Conducting and participating in peer reviews of test cases and test plans 
  • Creating and conditioning test data for execution 
  • Executing manual and automation tests according to approved test plans 
  • Documenting test results and reporting defects accurately 
  • Evaluating test outcomes and validating system functionality 
  • Retesting, validating, and closing defects as appropriate 
  • Validating release notes prior to deployment 
  • Submitting daily status reports and providing testing updates 
  • Identifying, documenting, and reporting risks 
  • Coordinating with onshore and offshore teams 
  • Managing day-to-day implementation of the GTS testing process 
  • Completing assigned technical or domain learning within defined timeframes 
  • Complying with all company policies and standards 

 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing 
  • Apply strong experience in test case creation and review 
  • Analyze business requirements and collaborate effectively with stakeholders 
  • Execute manual and automation testing aligned with structured test plans 
  • Manage defect documentation and support full defect lifecycle resolution 
  • Identify and escalate risks in a timely manner 
  • Communicate complex information clearly and effectively 
  • Work independently while meeting deadlines and quality standards 
  • Provide guidance to junior team members when needed 
  •

    Pay Transparency Laws in some locations require disclosure of compensation and/or benefits-related information. For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business needs, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. In addition, Conduent provides a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage, voluntary dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) or vacation and/or sick time. The estimated salary range for this role is ($69,300-$90,000)
