The Impact of a Jr. Staff Accountant at Coupa:
 
Coupa is looking for a Staff Accountant who can play an integral role in our monthly financial close process. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of work experience which includes accounting operations and month-end closing. We are looking for a team player with a positive attitude and creativity, who is deadline and detail oriented and possesses the ability to think and react quickly. You should have the ability to interact with cross-functional teams. If you are a great problem solver and communicator, looking to work in a fast-paced environment, then this is the role for you.

What You'll Do:

  • Support the month-end close activities, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Analyze and explain monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and variances
  • Assist with compiling year-end external audit requests
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial close process.
  • Maintain and improve financial controls and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist team with any ad hoc tasks, clean-up, reporting projects
  • Work with various departments to streamline data flow and processes

What You Will Bring to Coupa:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role and CPA is a plus.
  • Candidate should be self-motivated, able to effectively prioritize responsibilities, work within tight deadlines, and work in a dynamic environment.
  • Superior poise and professionalism.
  • Must be able to think outside the box, work independently with general supervision, be a team player, and willing to contribute beyond the defined role to meet business needs as circumstances require.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement.

The estimated pay range for this role is $54,000 - $67,500
 
The starting salary for the successful candidate will be based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
