Position Type: Full-Time

About Us: SFG is a boutique forensic accounting firm, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, with an office in Miami, Florida, that specializes in assisting clients with compliance-related matters, financial fraud, investigations and analysis, as well as litigation support and dispute consulting. 

Job Summary: The Junior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, billing and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a desire to learn and grow within the accounting field. 

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting

• Request and review financial information on a timely basis

• Add and update vendors and clients

• Enter and categorize transactions

• Conduct account reconciliations

• Create weekly or monthly financial reports

• Close each month or quarter within 15 working days of the prior month. (KPI)

• Stay within the budgeted time for each project. (KPI)


Billing

• Enter hours for team members

• Validate time and necessary fields for invoicing

• Prepare and issue client invoices within 5 working days of closing month. (KPI)

• Enter vendor bills

• Validate payments are issued (KPI)

• Maintain Account Receivable under 30 days (KPI)

• Prepare and deliver financial reports

• Collaborate with team members on various task


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative approach to management

• Flexibility to continuously learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

• Advanced English proficiency

• Computer equipment

• CPA license or working towards CPA certification is a plus

• Interest or experience in forensic accounting is preferred
