About the Team and Role


We are seeking a junior network engineer to plan, automate, and manage our company's IT network within our facility operations. You will be evaluating our network's performance, collaborating with   our   devops   team   and   facility   operations   team   to   increase   network   capacity, and overseeing network security. 50% travel will be required, up to 75% during peak times.


To ensure success as a junior network engineer, you should possess in-depth knowledge of network technologies and experience in a similar role. Experience cabling, installing networking equipment, wireless access points and wireless internet connections are a must. He/She/They will evaluate systems, looking for glitches or disturbances; analyze technical issues; and develop solutions. In addition, establishes network specifications by consulting with end-users inside and outside our organization, and defines the policies and procedures of the network. Workstation administration and access management experience is a bonus.


Responsibilities


● Travel to Mining Operations to assist in setup, configuration and troubleshooting of networking operations/equipment.

● Growing and maintaining our network infrastructure.

● Installing, updating, and configuring network devices at scale.

● Running diagnostic tests and performing repairs, as well as developing backup, archiving, and data retrieval procedures.

● Enhancing network security, as well as documenting network processes and cabling layouts.

● Keeping informed of developments in network technologies and infrastructure.

● Troubleshooting and resolving network problems in a time-sensitive manner.

● Network incident response.

● Other duties as assigned.


Location: Remote in Texas, with up to 50% travel required. This can be 75% travel during peak times.


Qualifications


● Bachelor's degree in computer   science, information science OR Certified CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco network professional.

● A minimum of one year experience as a network specialist.

● Experience with incident response methodologies.

● Practical understanding of network connectivity, technologies, protocols, and security.

● Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and collaboration skills.

● CCNA certification is preferred but not required
