Teach Kuchipudi online by developing lesson plans, choreography, and practice routines; lead live Zoom classes and workshops; mentor students, track progress, provide feedback, and manage course schedules and technical support.
This is a remote position.
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Kucchipudi Dance Instructor to provide engaging and comprehensive online dance training to students of varying skill levels. The instructor will be responsible for developing structured lesson plans, conducting live classes, and mentoring students to enhance their proficiency in Kuchipudi. A deep understanding of Kuchipudi techniques, choreography, and cultural significance, combined with effective teaching skills in a virtual setting, is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Course Development & Instruction:
- Create detailed lesson plans, choreography, and practice routines focusing on Kuchipudi dance techniques and expressions.
- Conduct live online classes, workshops, and practice sessions.
- Design assignments and activities that encourage continuous practice and improvement.
- Introduce students to the cultural and historical context of Kuchipudi dance.
Student Engagement & Mentorship:
- Monitor student progress and provide personalized feedback and guidance.
- Foster a supportive and interactive learning environment.
- Address student queries and provide one-on-one mentorship as needed.
Course Management:
- Stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in Kuchipudi dance.
- Tailor course content to meet the skill levels and interests of students.
- Manage class schedules, and attendance, and track students' milestones effectively.
Technical Support & Administration:
- Assist students with any technical issues related to the Zoom platform.
- Ensure seamless delivery of virtual classes using Zoom for online instruction.
Requirements
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Dance, Performing Arts, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- Formal training or certification in Kuchipudi dance from a recognized institution.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching or performing Kuchipudi.
- Prior experience conducting online dance classes or workshops is an advantage.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Kuchipudi dance techniques, expressions (abhinaya), and choreography.
- Strong understanding of the cultural and historical context of Kuchipudi.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate students.
- Ability to create and customize lesson plans to suit students of various skill levels.
- Familiarity with virtual teaching platforms such as Zoom or Google Classroom.
- Fluency in English and/or regional languages for effective instruction and communication.
Technical Requirements:
- Reliable internet connection, webcam, and microphone for conducting online classes.
- Proficiency in using virtual learning tools for scheduling, class management, and feedback.
