Job Description

Job Title: LAMP/Perl Software Developer

Location: Austin, TX

Duration: 6 Months

Required Skills:

• 3+ years of experience with LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)

• 3+ years of experience with Perl

• 8+ years overall software development experience

• Strong comfort-ability with UNIX command line 

• Experience developing unit tests and implementing test automation

• Experience developing REST or SOAP APIs

• Experience developing high throughput, high availability transaction processing systems -- a big plus

• High School graduate or GED

• 

Preferred Skills:

• Ability to take ownership of current Perl/PHP implementation and lead improvements

• Ability to design new solutions to meet detailed business requirements 

• Ability to take initiative and work independently in a fast-paced environment

• Java programming and experience with Spring, Hibernate and related stack a big plus

• Practical experience with SVN, branching, merging

• A solid understanding of object oriented programming and design principles

• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills required

• Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

• Ability to communicate effectively
